Re: A Borderline affair.Bolton v Carlisle, Home 20-04-21. 1900..
First 5 mins will tell the tale . Will we be confident or very nervy! The mental pressure on the players will be enormous. So close. Need calm heads. Lee and MJ. No need to change things up at this stage. Stick with the players who got us back to the top. Too late to be experimenting. The left of th...

Re: Time to batter the fish wives? Grimsby (A) - Sat 17th Apr 12:30 KO
Completely outplayed. No excuses. From minute 1 our defense looked like their minds were somewhere else. Gilks saved us from a battering. John's last game was bad. This one dreadful. He looks like he wants to join Maddison back home. Santos and Baptiste looked weak and nervous. Jones tried. The earl...

Have you seen Jensen play Mar? I have no clue if he is another Crelin or potential Jussi.

Re: Contract expiry
Since we became Promotion candidates recently, I have been reading DSBs Contract Expiration list and scratching my head as to who could be successful in L1 if we were to be promoted and aiming to be competing at the top end of the Division. As Worthy said, there is a big gap. We will need experience...

Re: Remaining fixtures
I suspect none of the chasing teams wants us to be in the playoffs with them. They will all want us to go up automatically.

Re: Dirty Old Town, Salford City (A) - Tues 13 April 19:00 KO
The team somewhat picks itself. Gilks, the back four, two holding (MJ and Thomasson) Lee (Attacking Mid), Isgrove and Doyle. The position up for grabs in my opinion is the left of the three behind Doyle: Dapo, Delf, King Arthur or Zack (for his counter pace) who I would possibly give the nod. Lets s...

Re: Dirty Old Town, Salford City (A) - Tues 13 April 19:00 KO
I was very excited we when we got him here because I have seen him before and was a really fantastic player. Now I know why he couldn't get much of a game over the past year and ended up in L2. The Maverick. Clearly there are other unfortunate issues that has affected him hence the deterioration of ...

Re: Something in the water? V Harrogate, home, 3-0'clock Sat 10-04 -21
Lee can't have touched it. On current form, if he had, it would definitely have gone wide! Maybe it's the fluke he needs. I had started to believe that he's an undercover agent for Tranmere. He's not been playing poorly. Just shooting poorly. And its not his natural position but nobody else is up t...

Re: Remaining fixtures
Closing the gap to the top nicely. Previously 7 points from 7 games to go. Now down to 5 from 6 games to go. Can we do it??!! The greatest comeback chase to the top is on.

Yup. We need to take care of our business to ensure that its a good weekend. Easier said than done as Harrogate seem up for it tomorrow.

Re: Remaining fixtures
While I understand the viewpoint that there's no need to rip up the playbook and start again, it's another one of those where you feel that if he can't start against Harrogate at home, when can he? Just as an aside, though - and this is the right thread for it, I suppose - I had a quick look at the...

Re: Remaining fixtures
Seven points to make up in seven games on the leader. Possible? Every game for everyone now is a scrap for 3 points. I believe we should stick to our trusty 4-2-3-1 and don't panic by sticking in extra forward players to score goals on teams who will no doubt stay tight hoping to squeeze one on us. ...

Re: Remaining fixtures
Well I am enjoying this season. We are winning games and playing some good stuff having been down in the doldrums with non league players and youths. We have certainly risen from the ashes brought on us over the past few years losing game after game with financial problems which almost caused our de...

Re: Who'll parade their plonkers at the Rodney? - Newport away April 5th, 3pm
When I saw it via iFollow, not the best vantage point, it did not appear to have crossed the line. I however have no clue what infringement took place by Lee when the ref blew for the free kick that led to the goal. Did someone see something that I didn't?

Re: Who'll parade their plonkers at the Rodney? - Newport away April 5th, 3pm
Well well.. those first half chances we missed hurt us. We are still in it as are the others. A dog fight to the end of the season. I hope we have the stomach for it. The pressure is telling on all the sides at the top including us. Do we have the mentality to cope with it is the question.

Re: Who'll parade their plonkers at the Rodney? - Newport away April 5th, 3pm
Exciting first half. Lee has missed 3 easy chances. He is not a goalscorer in his career but my word, the last one was a real sitter. Isgrove had an amazing half and we are a different team with him in it. Thomasson has also done well. Delf very quiet as usual. Wouldn't be surprised if he scores one.

Re: Scrambled Easter eggs. V Colchester at the Unibol, Friday 1-o'clock
Re-watched the game and put a timer on it. 31.05 Mins in the first half and 28.53 mins of play in the second half. Approximately 60 mins of play which is about par. So the time wasting wasn't anything out of the ordinary it appears. An observation looking at the game again. We looked good for the fi...

Re: Scrambled Easter eggs. V Colchester at the Unibol, Friday 1-o'clock
It started very early in the game, and they were encouraged when the ref did nothing about it. I reckon at least 10 mins were eaten up by them taking their own sweet time over the throws and goal kicks. Part of the game I'm afraid when you come away from home for a point against a top team. Evatt is...

Re: Remaining fixtures
Watched the Cheltenham vs Tranmere game. They destroyed Tranmere with their size, direct attacking pace and long throw set pieces from which a couple goals came. Their players are built like tanks. They really go at you hard and direct when they have the ball. Tranmere didn't know what hit them on t...

Re: Scrambled Easter eggs. V Colchester at the Unibol, Friday 1-o'clock
This time of the season, the teams at the wrong end of the table fighting for survival will be hardest matches. I always see them as potential banana skins and never ever expect them to roll over and die. They will do everything to frustrate and hope to score one. I was worried about this game like ...
