Re: Be Wise and Ern it: Morecambe (A) Sat 24/4/21 @ 3pm

A nil-nil affair with a fraught last 20 minutes for us, but a well-earned point. ;) A 1-0 "Panic Fannies" win would be better. I'm so nervous about this game, I can't bear to watch and will probably avoid knowing the score until well after the final whistle. I feel exactly the same. Problem is - I ...

Re: Top 5 of all time...

1: Football, though as my years advance I become less of a football fan per-se; just an ardent Wanderers supporter with a passing interest in the broader game. I've actually cancelled SKY Sports now as MotD is as much as I want to see of the EPL. I haven't a bloody clue as to who half the current En...

Re: The athletics/running thread

First run in over 3 weeks this evening, with Bruce and Morag. Very pleased with 5k in under 30 mins after almost breaking my ankle in the first 50m! Thought you were on your way arse-over when you went. How is it this morning? Surprisingly ok, thanks. I can feel it a little bit, but no pain. Phew! ...

Re: Top 5 of all time...

Never quite understood why hitting someone is considered a ‘sport’, but then we could also debate snooker, darts, motor racing and show jumping as others in those are they/aren’t they categories. I suppose at least boxing you have to be very physically fit for!! The rule's a simple one. If you need...

And without so little as a modicum of irony, up pops Gianni Infantino: "FIFA is an organisation that is built on the true values of sport".

Right now, at this very moment I feel pretty pessimistic regarding Saturday. Whilst being as choofed as foook that we took three points we were hanging on for dear life there. Meanwhile Morecambe went and thumped a bottom-of-the-table side who gave us the absolute runaround on Saturday. :?

Fair booking for Santos there as he did impede the keeper.
He did, but if that was a booking and the foul on Dapo wasn't then the game's on its head!

Re: Dulux. New Spurs sponsors

What’s more of an interesting question, and one which I’ve not figured out yet the answer too is if say Bolton were the club doing this how would your support fare, any of you? Would you abandon them as a fan completely? Would you want to watch their games in the super league? Superb question. I ho...

Probably! Have you seen us play recently?! 🙈 Ain’t no way we are getting in the CL on merit any time soon.
Saw the highlights last night, and to be honest, felt for Scott Parker at the end.

Re: General Chit Chat

Pushy parents are horrendous. I've seen it do many times in athletics. Remember a girl my age getting no tea if she lost a race when we kids in the 80s. I'd have bloody starved! Usually down to no-mark parents wanting their kids to make up for their own lack of achievement in life. Blimey. I’ve see...

Re: Dulux. New Spurs sponsors

They’ve just sacked Mourinho! Shame. He made them even easier to hate them!! That's got to be him pretty much finished now, hasn't it? Found out again. £16m pay off though, I'm hearing. If I got sacked I'd be given 30 minutes to get my shit together - at best :D I’d like to think so but I doubt it!...
