Away Daze - Spurs 2 Spods 0

The stomach finally settles enough to report on the horror of White Hart Lane.
Right Team, Right Time.
Not Tottenham. But Bolton.
We always seem to be the team that sets someone off on a run of form. It's frustrating. Spurs were still there for the taking Sunday even with the excitement around their new cheeky chappy manager. They simply beat a worse team.
The problems that have plagued them so far this season were there, they just weren't taken advantage of. Like the half a Blackburn team last week weren't taken advantage of. They gave the ball away often, the keeper is possibly the worst I've seen in the top flight and defenders nervy.
But by giving a player like Bentley half the right wing to pick his cross, offering Pavyluchenko the freedom of the penalty area, allowing them a player advantage through stupidity, petulance and a penalty out of impatience, and a clean sheet through lack of composure we gave Spurs their first win of the season on a plate.
On a plate and all cut up into cute little chunks and flew it into Spurs' mouth making an aeroplane noise.
The game changed first on the goal which brought back a shuffling crowd into the action. Then McCann got booked for a silly off the ball push. With both McCann and Nolan seemingly in the last chance saloon for fouls Megson should've looked to open the game up and test the flapping Gomes at every opportunity. With McCann's sending off for a late tackle, instigated by some girly wailing from Huddlestone, it was very much game over from Megson's point of view.
As a fan you look to the dugout for action or a reaction. Megson simply stood hands in pockets, typically barracking the fresh air every now and then. 'Arry brought on Lennon and Bent. With ten minutes left Riga was finally sent to warm up. By now we'd conceded a sloppy penalty and the game was past saving. It's this lack of reaction or seeming desire that worries more than anything else.
We need some change. Steinsson and Muamba need rockets shooting up their bottoms and shouldn't be assured of their places. Though with McCann missing midweek Fab will survive again. Samuel has offended nobody at the back but is looking very limited going forward and hasn't struck up an understanding with Taylor at all.
Taylor's set-piece delivery is still our most potent threat, but without a Diouf and Anelka winning the free kicks opportunities here have been limited. Our best moment of the game came from a Taylor free kick which Davies and then Elmander were unlucky not to convert.
Biggest laugh of the day is the guy who spends the whole game asking the Spurs fans behind the goal to sit down with a "praying" motion. To which the whole crowd "pray" or "bow" back at him. I tried to film it, it was hilarious. But failed.
