Apologies if this subject has been covered before but I thought it was worth re-visiting in our new era. I'm not having a go at anyone, people can do what they want but to be sat watching injury time and the ground being half empty is just bizarre. Now I understand that no-one walks to the reebok due to its location but for people to be leaving with still 15 mins to go I find staggering.
I thought that this phenomenon was down to the negativity and general pervading doom and gloom during the Megson reign but no it has happened in the 1st 3 league games under Coyle.
I can half understand it if we're losing heavily but during the Burnley win and todays game (when they would have missed the Elmander chance - as he did! & the Davies 'GOAL', people were streaming out from 75 mins onwards.
Whats the big rush, getting home for Come dine with me?! I dont know of another ground that empties as quickly when the home team is winning.
Like I said its just my opinion but it just looks a bit small-time and embarrasing.
Anyway rant over, another beer methinks

OT, Anfield + Emirates are even worse. Meh happens in every ground, not just isolated to ours.

I've never understood it personally.

Well, actually, that's not quite right...I get why people do it...they want to beat the traffic etc etc.

I was sat at a Bournemouth match recently, 3-0 down (might have been 4-0 actually) and suddenly, with 10 (maybe even 15 minutes to go) my father in law stands up and says, right lets get going.

I was shocked, but he was my lift and I had no choice.

Don't get me wrong, it was a drab game and a SPECTACULAR capitulation from 0-0 to 3/4-0 in about 10 minutes, but with 20 minutes to go, it was like the whole stadium got up and left.

I don't get it...why pay money to not see it through.

Horses for courses I guess.

Personally I would never leave the ground before the finish of a game but that's just me, the last time I did suggest we left was the mauling by Chelski and the missus called me a pansy

Yeah I understand why they do it too, but why do it?

If you go to the game, you kow getting away will take some time, that's just what you have to put up with. So knowing that why not accept it? Would you go to a film and leave 10 minutes before the end?

I can almost, almost, accept it when a gme is a couple of goals or more one way, but when drawing or it's one goal either way, why they hell go in the first place if you're not going to stay for a buttock clenching finale?

I was sat in the north stand and didn't notice people leaving in there droves near me. I saw a few get up and stand at the top of the steps, near the exit but that was about it.

I have never left a match early even when we got battered against the red scum at Burnden.

Can't understand it either, have never left a game early, be it Rugby, football, cricket, tennis, golf, etc, no matter how bad the game has been. It doesn't matter what sport, you pay a lot of money to get in so why throw some of it away by leaving early, its crazy. In football there are plenty of goalscoring opportunities in the last few minutes of normal and injury time and plenty of goals as well. Why risk missing them.

Man United (wash my mouth out) won the Champions League once with two goals in injury time so anyone who left that game early missed a quite sensational end. I know that Bolton v Fulham can't compare on the world football stage but for Bolton fans watching them play its more important than anything else so how can fans leave? Perhaps they are just football watchers and not true fans, there is a difference I guess!

You do see it happening at other clubs so we are not alone, but how can people complain at the cost of tickets when they also leave early. But then they may not be the ones who complain.

I move from my seat at the back row of the area in which I sit once the "additional time" is signalled. I walk down to by the exit and sit in a seat, presumably vacated by the early leavers (many of whom seem to gather by the TV's below the stands by the looks of it).

The moment the whistle goes I'm off. I don't hang about clapping & cheering ... or moaning. I'm in my car 5m after and can be home 65 miles away by 6pm.

That works for me.

Only time I would do it is if I had some major family thing I had to get to. For example, if it were my Dad's surprise 80th birthday bash and rather than miss the match to be there, I'd go watch as much as i could then be there for my Dad's thing. Leaving early to get home for my tea would isnot really much of a reason is it...

What really pisses me off is when the feck that decide to leave early think it's ok to stop stood still in front of whoever's letting them through when something exciting's happening. Whack

Personally, as part and parcel of going to the match I know that I'm not going to get home until at least an hour after full-time. Would I miss any of the game to alter that? Would I shite as like - not even if we were five down.

Not only as with others on here do I not get it either but that's the key time when fans can add to the pressure and possibly influence the result. That's not going to happen in a positive way if there on the Reebok carpark thinking ahead to who may be picked this week in Take me out.

I have never understood this either, and most of the time, these people who have left early are the people in their cars complaining that fans are crossing in front of their car when they are blocking a yellow box and can't actually go anywhere anyway!

I feel for the players, when we have won, Burnley for example, and they look up to the stands and everyone is leaving!!! Yeah thanks for the win lads but getting to my car is much more important, or in fat getting a seat at the front of the bus means mroe than thanking you all for getting us 3 vital points!

But as said previously, it happens at other grounds too, OT, Emirates etc etc but when you look to those clubs whose fans don't leave, and they are all on their feet at the final whistle, I feel an edge of jealousy.. I want our fans to be like that. Rolling Eyes

Has anybody ever actually eaten a prawn sandwich at a game of football? I'm curious.

I once heard a bloke shout "show us your Prawn" to a waitress from one the corporate boxes, so I would assume so!

I would like to comment on the speed some people seem acceptable to drive through the car park at the back of the north stand. When there are about 3000 people walking infront of your car you should not be driving at 25 mph. Someone is either going to get run over or someone will get a shoeing soon.

They paid their money, up to them when they leave, plus with us having the most out of town stadium in the land with a lack of decent boozers nearby, then I think they've got the right idea.

Got the bus back to Bolton on Saturday, took almost 30 mins to get off the f*****g car park in the end.

I hate that ground, a f*****g football stadium does not belong on a f****g retail park 5 miles out of town Evil or Very Mad

Rant over
