I had a butcher's on youtube. Obviously this is a flawed way to scout players.

But he looked great! Very Happy

Exciting enough debut in terms of pitch time/skillz! Think he's going to be the one to give Lee a rest soon if I'm honest. That lad looks knackered!!

Dunno, I think Lee's looked tired recently but tonight he was the second best player on the pitch (Cahill aside, who was immense). It's nice to think we MIGHT have another option out there though.

I have to say I'm glad Coyle at least considers Gardner a left winger. Taylor would still be my first choice, seeing as he seems to have been given the kick up the arse competition gives- so much better in the two games against Arsenal and today, he;d looked lazy until then, not the last few games.

Weiss is lightning. Let him counter attack at will.
There are some great youtube clips of him in action.

just had man city fan on phone raving about Weiss. says we must have agreed to give him time on the pitch - no point in the loan otherwise... said he's one of the finest young talents ever at city...

ok... i told him he'd had a great 45 seconds with us and we were putting in a bid...

Looking at all these clips on youtube, he looks like he's a very rough diamond. In that sense, with City's impatient owners, I'm not sure he'll get much chance to iron out his game in the next 18 months on the pitch. And they will spend big in the summer. Can't imagine Mancini going to the board and saying please give me time, theres this great kid on the right who's gonna be the business in the next few years. Maybe a chance for a season long loan next year aswell? Thats if we want him.

Yep, my view entirely.

Citeh's monied owners will want 100% proven, 100% delivering superstars & nearly men will get sidelined. If he's here & is an absolute star they'll have him back, but if he's a bit hit & miss, then they'll buy past him.

I'd be far from surprised to see us take him for a year next season.

I was, though, very impressed at his cameo ... indeed a cameo of a cameo as it lasted less than 1 minute.

I'm hoping that City's big time owners would sooner blow £20/30m on each position than give youngsters like him a chance, Ireland was their star man last year but he'll struggle to play regular in the next few years.

Was a cracking little run he went on, I'm glad Owen likes 'proper' wingers, if we could get him & LCY on either side we'll look dangerous going forward.

Every city fan in work has said he's a cracking player - SIGN HIM UP! Wink

Steven Ireland? Just imagine! They spend big in the summer and somehow or other Coyle pursuades him to come to the 'Bok along with Weiss for another season. Then Ricardo Vaz Te suddenly becomes the player he always threatened he could be, Elmander shows why he's an £8m-£11m player and we end up with a forward line of Weiss, CYL, Vaz Te and Elmander, a midfield anchor of Muamba and Ireland, and.....

"Nurse, bring me 50mg's of Megson quick, this guys hyperventilating on hope".

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we got Weiss permanently in the summer, assuming he doesn't look too much of a superstar in this loan spell, and we are prepared to stump up about £4m.

City is a nigthtmare club for promising youngsters nowadays, depsite their previous excellent record with young players.

As to whether we might have built in a contract option to get him permanently - might not be a bad question @ 2morrow's forum.
