It's the worst game I've seen Muamba have for us, his giving away possession was directly responsible for Spurs first goal, numerous times we tried breaking and he just headed or passed the ball back to Spurs' midfield. I literally lost count of the amount of times he gave the ball back to Spurs, often when our full backs were starting to push up the pitch.
Makukula held the ball up well, brought others into the game and found himself in shooting positions, sadly his match fitness and lack of games meant he couldn't do anything with those shooting positions. He's going to be a good option to bring off the bench, or to play when SUPER Kevin Cyril Davies is suspended or injured...but he is desperately short of fitness, which I'm sure we're working on.

They say that it only takes a second to score a goal so we could have been dead and burried in those 2 mins, but for the other 88 mins we bossed the game defensively and didn't give them a single real change. So how can we be so bad for those 2 mins, you couldn't blame Megson for the team letting those two goals in as he had the right team doing the rights things both before and after that time.
We should have been out of sight well before those 2mins of course as we made loads of chances that we should have at least tested the goalkeeper.
Highlight of the day for me was seeing again a Bolton midfielder who can hold the ball, run with the ball, has pace and can pass and tackle. Top marks for our new young Davies who had an excellent game considering it was his first Premiership game for us.
Oh the United Everton game has just stared may watch a bit of that before I go to bed, couldn't sleep at the moment even though its 2-30 am here! Night night all |
Im up late having a few beers after the game also ...
Hopefuly, M.Davies turns out to be a similar Championship find that Everton had with Tim Cahill, great game and i was pleased to see the ball rolling on the grass and passed, more so than belted up the pitch every time, to be honest i think tottenham were surprised with our ball control .....
Hopefully the form and the moral the team had in this game keeps up.
Trying to figure out what was with the goal dance, were they playing the flute or something ?

Several on here posted earlier in the week that we needed to get a point at Blackburn and beat Spuds. We did it, and though the circumstances were maybe a little nervy at the end of the season these could be 4 very important points.
We played well, and weren't troubled until we started making mistakes. Muamba gave the ball away cheaply for the first and Ricky and Jlloyd defended very poorly in the second build up.
But jesus did Kev put in a performance today. He's been rightfully put down on here of late for some indifferent performances and his footballing ability has been exposed when he's on the right. But down the middle with someone with him he's a threat and half. Why did we never have him and Anelka up top together?? He was everywhere and two great goals.
Taylor was much-improved, as was Steinsson. Gardner showed what we missed Weds - someone to carry the ball forward, win free kicks to take pressure off and track back. The new centre-half partnership looks promising, but Guy Perrier doesn't look great in the air.
But what a full debut for Mark Davies. Made one and stood out in illustrious company in midfield. Especially that dirty, cheating Wilson boy. Anyone in short sleeves and gloves...
Anyway, shall enjoy this. And hopefully we can build to a point against Everton

He watched a different second half to me. They came into it in the second half, but we were a long way from pummelled. Liverpool and Arsenal away we were pummelled. Less so today methinks

That is absolutely astonishing. If they were pummelling us so much, why did Bagpuss look so suicidal? There was only one team that deserved to win today, and it was Bolton. He's dillusional if he actually believes what he's saying there.

The only time they were dangerous was between the 70th Minute and the 79th Minute, so maybe Harry only sees EPL matches lasting 9 minutes with a 69 minute warm up before anything counts ... and a 10 minute warm down after.
Yeah, hmm thats must explain it ...
