Without wanting the noshit sherlock award, we aren't going to get a top manager! |
Why or is it the we pay peanuts so we get monkeys syndrome?
The AntiChrist was rumoured to be on a fair screw when Phil G re-negotiated his contract you know!
Like I said Eddie Davis is the key man now and what he wants to do with his 90 odd percent of BWFC he owns.

superb record of... creeping in through the play offs
then finishing bottom of the league
have i missed out. maybe it was his european cup win in his glittering, if ill-fated playing career

3 seasons at watford
1 promotion
1 relegation
1 currently top of league
works for me over Jewell.

don't gloss over it, they were the worst team to come up to the league since sunderland the year before |
I think that is irrelevant, I think he is a better candidate over Jewelinho any day.
Plus he'd spend less time at the sales than him |
Jewell has a far better record than Boothroyd.
If you are comparing records there is no comparison.
3 seasons in the premiership, never relegated, with small unfashionable sides.
League cup final.
3 promotions.
Boothroyds sum total is one promotion and a cup run to the semi final coupled to the most disastrous season in recent premiership history.

re Allardyce and his 'fair screw at Bolton'
Just want to ask my man for details but I believe he's on about 3x as much at Newcastle, and he was on plenty at our place
Thats what a top manager wants, along with cash to splash
We aint getting one

But seriously... Boothroyd? An OK manager, but still with a lot to prove. Jewell would be the best of a mediocre bunch, as we've got to admit that in Premiership terms Bolton was always going to be mid-table at best without Allardyce. That is not going to attract the Houlliers or Deschamps of this world (some of the nuttier suggestions made around the ether today). Jewell is our level. Not a bad level, but our natural one all the same.
Anyway, Lee has gone, so be thankful for small (ahem) mercies. I wonder if Gartside's going to be reminded of how "better things come in smaller packages"? |
Agree and Jewell is ambitious, something I like.
Boothroyd needs to get Watford up again and keep them there this time before I'd consider him.
