Muamba told AS: "I am happy to be here and the fact is I continue to feel fine. I am improving slowly but surely.
"At the moment I am not doing exercise, I am just enjoying life and travelling.
"It is a great privilege to be able to live without the assistance of a respiratory machine or something like that. It is fantastic.
"I am making small steps every day. I am still being medicated and we will see what happens.
"I have to co-ordinate with my doctor and see what he says but I'll never say never."
The former England Under-21 international also spoke of his recollection of the day he collapsed.
"The only thing I remember about the game is running back and falling," he said. "I felt dizzy whilst I was moving back, very dizzy.
"It was a strange sensation, I felt like I was running inside someone else's body and then I fell. My head hit the ground twice and I lost consciousness. I was dead.
"I didn't feel pain in my body or my head. I didn't feel anything. That happened on the Saturday and I didn't wake up until the Monday.
"I have never watched the video because I am not yet ready. Now I intend to enjoy life. It is a miracle that I can do things like travel.
"It is a miracle because I shouldn't even have lived, so everything that comes now is a bonus."
The day after Muamba's collapse, Real Madrid players took to the field for their game against Malaga with messages of support printed on T-shirts and he is especially thankful for the support he received from the football community worldwide.
"When I was in hospital Madrid sent me a shirt signed by all the players and it was a gesture I appreciated a lot," he said. "Barcelona also sent me a shirt signed and dedicated by (Lionel) Messi.
"I never thought I would get to step on this pitch. To do so in this manner is an honour.
"It is the first time I have been to the Bernabeu and to do so surrounded by some of the best players ever, I don't have the words to describe it.
"All the support I have received gives me strength."

Muamba needs another operation

Fabrice Muamba has been told that he needs further heart surgery, which could spell the end of his football career.

The Bolton Wanderers midfielder collapsed and almost died during an FA Cup match against Tottenham in March, with the player being clinically dead for 78 minutes.

But thanks to the efforts of the medical staff attending him - including a consultant cardiologist who happened to be at White Hart Lane - Muamba pulled through, and has been slowly getting better. The 24-year-old has been building up his fitness levels recently by jogging and playing tennis, and had hoped to return to the game.

His hopes of playing again have been dealt a heavy blow, however, with Belgium-based cardiologist Pedro Brugada telling him at a recent consultation that he needs another operation.

"Fabrice wants to resume his career but the number one priority has got to be his health," a source told the Daily Mirror. "That is all those closest to him are concerned about."

The former England U21 star already has a pacemaker installed in his chest, and said a few weeks ago that he was, "improving slowly but surely.

"I am just enjoying life and travelling. It is a great privilege to be able to live with the assistance of a respiratory machine or something like that. It is fantastic," he said recently in an interview with Spanish newspaper AS.

"I am making small steps every day. I am still being medicated and we will see what happens. I have to co-ordinate with my doctor and see what he says but I'll never say never."

My opinion hasn't changed since the incident. I couldn't care less if the guy never kicks a ball again - I'm just delighted that he's still with us.

gutted if true, but also confused as to what another operation would do. Still he is here which is the main thing.

What ever the circumstances I'm in the "doesn't matter if he never plays again at least he's around to see his family grow up" camp.

Because they're blurting private medical details all over the national press.

And because its lead to half a story being printed.

We don't know if/what op Muamba needs. And nor should we.

Thats a very vague article and its not helping anyone.

As said above whether he plays or not is of no importance really, though it may well matter to him......

Sorry BWFC_i , I got read the wrong emphasis into your original post. Totally agree with you regarding medical records and whether he ever plays or not again. They should leave him in peace to recover as best he can.

I could care less, I really hope he does come back. Regardless of what might've happened, it would be a sad story if he could never play again. Football isn't life and death, but it's still pretty important.
