Will we stick with the 442 or will we move to a new one.

personally I'd like to see us go with a 4231 formation with the line up looking like this

------------------Bogdan-------------------
Ricketts/Riley---Ream---Mills--Alonso/Ricketts
---------Holden------Andrews?-------------
Lee------------Mavies---------Petrov/Wylde
---------------Ngog/Sordell----------------

It will be 4-3-1 if Davo and Prat play

I'd like to see us play a W-M formation.

It is pleasingly retro, and would confuse the opposition.

I propose:

Bogdan
Mears Ricketts Alonso
Ream Mills
Eagles M.Davies
Lee Team-GB's-Sordell Petrov

We'll shit 'em.

But what if we face a withdrawn centre-forward, like those pesky Hungarians use?

Ahh....

But what would the Hungarians know? They don't even have proper kit...

Didn't Wolves beat that lot under the lights?

Wolves beat Honved, after being two down at half-time. Everything to do with English superiority, and nothing at all to do with their trainees (including a young Ron Atkinson) spending half-time watering the pitch into a quagmire. Atkinson: "There is no doubt in my mind that, had [bullet-headed Dogheads manager Stan] Cullis not ordered me and my mates to water the pitch, Honved would have won by about 10-0."

#victory

OK - in that formation I'll have Ngog for the first hour then Sordell when they're tired.

(NB Mark Davies is an alternative option in Eagles' position, but more pressingly in Holden's until Stuey's fit. Unless you'd pick Vela?)

Would be happy to see Eagles given his chance in the hole (second striker). That seems to be his best and most effective position and is a goal scoring threat from there, always willing to shoot. Now that LCY is back, I hope OC gives him that opportunity.

Riley has potential but I would play Mears at RB as we need the strength in the Championship, and we need to sign another strong midfielder to start for Holden who I doubt will start the season. I dont believe Mark Davies is strong enough for a 4-4-2 and Pratley has not convinced me. Vela has loads of potential and just might be that player later in the season with some experience off the bench earlier on.

I'm becoming more and more convinced we should go for an innovative 2-3-6 formation - take that inverted pyramid and put it the right way up. And play with a fly-goalie. That'll learn 'em.

Mears--Ricketts
Vela--Andrews--Pratley
Lee--MDavies--Ngog--TeamGB'sSordell--Wylde--Petrov

Don't worry - only a couple of hours to pub time.
