Contrary to public view I couldn't walk on water to check in strides (not the same walking along the edges) but let's say one length of Moss Street baths, no sweat. I could also dive off the top board into the 7'-6" end.

If this were a REAL extension, you'd hear about the deets by now. Certainly Bolton would be bragging about it either to increase incoming offers or to show their financial stability to the world.

Not sure if serious? Of course it's real, they don't need to pretend because if it weren't then every man and his dog would know that end of the end of the season CYL would be available on a free, his agents would make sure of it

The Bolton chairman tweeted it for gods sake.

It's real. And chungy is staying.

Which makes it even more flabbergasting we've never had an official press line.
This isn't some second rate left back for crickes sake.

Very odd IMO

Apparently it was because he signed it then immediately was injured. So they never released the info. But they have now via media outlets.

Yay! let's slate the club for sorting out a contract for one of our most promising assets!

I'm not. I'm merely questioning their lack of announcement of it.
IMO they did remarkably well to get him to renew, as it turned out with our relegation.
Well done in that sense.

I still can't understand what the club is supposed to have done wrong here - who is hurt?? what's the issue???

I'd suggest the club have been harmed.
The positive vibes around the club could've done wonders with merchandise, ST sales & even player signings.
It sounds immaterial but it'd help. Every little helps when we are where we are.

BWFC spent a lot of time last season telling us that no contract talks would take place until the summer.
Maybe they felt Chungy was a special case and got him to sign an extension on the QT.
If word got out they'd have all been in there demanding one too.

Exactly. Although I imagine a huge number would have still left had we survived, many of the 'almost good enough's' such as Steinsson could have kicked off and caused added disharmony in the dressing room with the whole 'what about me' line. Overall I think the club handled it well tbh, yerr we still went down but there was never as large a sense of disdain in the locker room as perhaps there could have been.

Anyway, this thread is going round in circles lol.

Officially staying no change in wages nothing. All same as before, only difference is playing in the Championship. But the thought of moving on can happen after 6 months if a good offer comes into the table.
