Im new to this board but after yesterday i couldnt resist but to come on say hi to everyone and say my piece!

Ive been following the wanderers for years some amazing time and some bad times and yes yesterday was bad BUT......

Many a time now we see wanderers lacking in that killer touch that killer style and the fans have become a little bit stale i think, too many players we have turn up for the paycheck and have and show hardly any loyalty and show less passion than a garden newt.

Im taking this as a wake up call for us,a jolt that we need to kick start again, a weight has been taken off us now and we no longer have to start the season looking over our shoulder and wondering which part of the lower league we will finish and which crap teams we can beat to grab points to keep heads above water. Yes we are down a league, yes we may lose players but we will operate leaner, quicker more efficient and players and fans alike will get that hunger back again that i think we have lost that makes us a WANDERER!

Remember the times when we lost stubbs, macateer and sasa curcic and wondered oh my god we have gone down and we will never come back up? i remember leaving burnden park in tears when i ripped my new kickers jacket (from that shit sports shop opposite bolton college) climbing into burnden to witness the penalty mcginlay stuck away against charlton in the last game of the season there and thinking wow it cant get any better AND IT DID!!

I remember seeing keith branagan getting injured and thinking who the FK is this guy jussi???? and hes been amazing for us remember this is just a transition phase and i think the players that we have had out injured have contributed to our demise BUT they will now get a full season in a lower division to catch up and bogdan will have a season to stretch off and really show us what he can do and develop!!

At wembly 1995 against reading i thought fabian defraitas was god himself but again we came back harder, stronger and like wanderers we fight on and on and got better! if you told me then kevin davies would score at bayern munich id have laughed my tits off! when we were 6-0 down to man united and cantona was jesus (remember that) and im crying into my bovril which i did in the great lever stand if youd have told me that djorkaeff, okocha, ivan campo, fernando hierro, freddy bobic, eider gudjohnsen, jardel, speed would all play for you in a few years id have drove you round to bolton hospital to the mental department and checked you in!

WE are now the big fish, the team everyone wants to beat, the man united/man city of the championship and i cant wait for these teams away games!!

LEEDS
MILLWALL
CARDIFF
BLACKPOOL - when they get beat
BURNLEY

remember tough times go tough people dont!

look what newcastle did and now where they are a season later! so yes its bad we are down but does anyone agree this will make football exciting to watch again???

Good first post mate, but don't ever, EVER tell me that I'm part of being "the man united of the championship".

I will have your babies eaten raw, with a sprinkle of salt and a touch of garilc. :-)

Could just as easily have the opposite effect and see us playing ever more dire football and losing to shitter teams. As I said before, I'm hopeful, but fearful at the same time.

We've got some superb away days, I'm so glad pointless clubs like Reading and Southampton have gone up now we're down.

Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, Hull, Blackburn, Burnley and then the maybe's of Huddersfield and Blackpool, I'm looking forward to some proper away days. Give me an unpredictable scrap where we've spent £20 on a ticket than pay £50 to camp in our own half and still concede 5 against Chelsea any day.

thats what its about! watching lofty the lion 'intimidating' rival fans! remember this in 1997???

The Bolton Wanderers mascot, Lofty the Lion (left), has been told to carry on entertaining the Burnden Park crowd by the First Division club - despite allegations that he has intimidated rival fans. The incident allegedly occurred during Bolton's home game with Wolves on Saturday, and Wolves supporters are understood to be writing to the Football Association to lodge a complaint. "Lofty is very upset by any suggestion that he helped cause a problem," Bolton's chief executive, Des McBain, said yesterday. "He is there to create a bit of fun. His performances have been enjoyed by home and away fans alike"

where games meant more and cost less! cannot wait for some of these games where WE are the top team and WE are the ones smashing teams up and down the park

Please refrain from posting pictures of fat hairy man in underwear – there's a reason I don't keep any mirrors in my bathroom.

Nice first post though – cheered me up!

Kenny Sansom's packed it on post-career, but king of pies is surely Neil Shipperley.
