When the "bought the title" excuse runs thin, another will be along soon after..

They spend almost 20 million on Phil Jones where as City spend a similar amount and get Aguero..

Almost 20 million on Valenica and City spend similar and get David Silva..

Decent players on the United side but not a patch on the City signings IMO ..

On a serious ooint. This is probably the worst (or less good) Man United side for how long? Twenty years? Despite that City with all their money are still only able to be neck and neck coming up the final straight.

Mancini is a complete fraud. Yes he's won a couple of Italian titles but in Europe? With another 'money bags' club what did he do?

Jose came in after him and swept the board.

Now he's here, stood with his little City scarf staring into the mid distance like he's thinking about things.

I agree that United have always bought big. From Bryan Robson to Gary Pallister to Juan Sebastian Veron to....they've constantly splashed millions but they did that when they WEREN'T winning the league too.

It was only when Ferguson came in they really got their act together and have dominated by building on success.

Look at the money Chelsea have spent and they can't give United a run for their money this year - true they've made it further in the CL.

City may win it this year but in my eyes that doesn't make them 'Champions'. The true test of a champion is defending your title, or if you lose it coming back stronger, angrier and better and taking it straight back.

You may gather, I can not STAND City.

This does not mean I like United.

I'll agree about Mancini but to carry on about city spending is stupid to say the least, they had a long way to catch up and if that means "only" just wining the title from a "poor" scum team then so be it, I'd suspect once they win the big stuff they will never be "poor" neighbours in football terms of the scum ever again!

This is a hilarious thought. My Utd supporting mate was moaning on about the 'noisy neighbours' (an expression he'd never used until this season) buying success. They win the bloody thing every year and you'd swear it was eating him up inside. Genuinely believes they should have their name on the title annually.

He also said to me once they have a richer and more glorious history than other clubs (then proceeded to scoff when I mentioned Nat Lofthouse and our FA Cup wins). Spends his time supporting Barcelona when United aren't playing and downloads games where Messi scores a few goals because he wants a record of "witnessing the great man play."

He's my mate, but he's a glory-hunter.

In fairness, Valencia is easily the best wide player in the league. And I'd have him in my team ahead of Silva.

Jones and Aguerro cost nowhere near a similar amount. But that's obvious considering the gulf in quality.

What I will say is:

Jones: £16m
Zabaleta: £6m & Richards £0

Smalling: £10m
Kompany: £6m

Berbatov: £32m
Aguerro: £34m

Carrick: £18m
Barry: £12m.

Basically. Man Utd pay a damn sight more for players of a damn sight lesser ability.

Alex seems to be buying British/Prem-proven recently. Citeh can get better players for less from abroad, but there's always a risk they'll want to be back in Argentina.

You can't say Berbatov's not a good player. £32m was the going rate. When he plays he scores (we know all about that).

It's a formation that keeps Berba out of the team.

I reckon we should sign him.

He could sit next to Sordell.

You can say Berbatov is a lazy sod though. And not half as good as he thinks he is.

So far Mancini is the first manager since Mourinho to out "mind game" Fergie, so for that I give him credit.

I hope Citeh stuff QPR and I'd rather them win the league every single time over the red scum.

At least Citeh fans have suffered, relegations and pain in recent times and will probably value this far more than the red morons who as said above, think they have a "divine right".

And BB, Valencia is a fine player. But him over Silva? Not in a million, billion, gazillion years!

Wouldn't wait that long, but Silva is the better player. Valencia's a better *winger*, if you want crosses to heads, but none of the top four really play like that.

Definitely want to see City win the title.

United fans I know have been too smug for too long. The City fans I know aren't that bad really. Suppose it comes down to the people you know and what team they support.

Some of us don't associate with the filth, on the grounds they are filth

I do, however, have one or two City fans as friends and have quite a few Blues who work for me

If we don't beat Stoke, I hope United win the Barclays Premier League

I would. Valencia brilliant, but Silva, and I'm normally one for going against Skillz-lover-favourites, which Silva is, is unreal.

I read Valencia is the best wide player in the league and thought 'get out'. But thinking about it...

Bale, I have no doubts will be top drawer. Consistency is what he is lacking. He isn't 23 yet though. Other than him, you'd be looking at pre-injury Chungy definitely having a shout! Not too many 'wingers' about.

On a one on one comparison I actually do favor Manchester United over city... But can't really give a shite when they could help us stay up. If we ever get relegated, I wish United will win the title

Not the FRS! Not now. Not ever.

Even at the cost of the other Mancs moving up yet another notch in the unbearability stakes. They will have several other notches to go before reaching the FRS levels of skin-crawling unbearability.

I hope they shed a tear every foot of the way from Sunderland...

And that their tears are acid...
