Seeing Chungy training seems to be a false indicator of how fit he actually is. Seeing the pictures it would suggest he's ready to come back into the fray but i'm sure the manager and coaching staff have a better understanding of the level he is actually at.

I'm not holding any hopes up until Owen Coyle says that he's ready to start playing.

Just think. It would really fk up someones game plan if Chungy were to come on. After all how many teams are really expecting him to be anywhere near the squad at this time. Coyle would just have to keep quiet and wait until the right moment before announcing it on the teamsheet and it would proper surprise the opposition.

I think it said somewhere we were organising a behind closed doors friendly for him because all the reserve games have finished now. Hopefully that means he is pretty close to at least making the bench for Stoke.

Also, I doubt bringing Chungy on would immediately cause the opposition to tear up their game plan. How different would their plan be?

Besides, we spent the first 2/3rds of the season picking the team and formation entirely at random, and that never seemed to do us any favours.

Lol. I know you weren't thinking he's gonna start on Wednesday. I didn't read too much into it. I've seen a few of him training now and each time i'm thinking he's close to getting near the squad. I've given up hope of him returning this season but would be nice if it did happen. Especially if it comes down to 'secret weapon' status.

This late in the season, and coming back from serious injury, he may well make no more impact than what we have. If we can survive, better to let him have a full recovery and come back next season. If he's come through hard training and is fit Coyle will know.

True, he wouldn't be back training with the squad if he still had a leg injury, it's more likely he's out because he's no fitness or confidence

I'd rather him take an extra month at the start of next season before he is right for our Premiership campaign, than him be fully fit for a tilt at the Championship. Don't understand this leave it till next year idea. If he is fit enough to contribute in a manner which improves our chances of staying up without dying, clod him in.

It wouldn't be the same with Holden, we can only speculate as to what might happen if you rushed him back from that, another bastard six months perhaps, but Chungy's leg is presumably fine.

Chungy is playing a behind closed doors friendly today against Wigan. Can he be capable of making a late substitue appearance (Or possibly starter) against Stoke to keep us up next week?
