Or just nail him before he gets in the box.

God knows what Ream was doing running away from him.....

In fact, is it just me that doesn't 'get' Tim Ream??? He's a centre back that looks about as convincing in the air as Ricardo Garnder and his positional play is Knight-esque

Watched the 92/93 season again last night. Mark Seagraves was a better CB than Knight, Ream and Wheater put together :(

Oh it was - but is it too much to ask that one of ours at least attempts to take the fecking thing off of him? :conf:

He basically ran in a straight line til he got to Boggers, then the finish was pretty good under pressure. "Wonder goal" is a bit far, for me. Sometimes in games one player seems to just decide to score, like Ben Arfa here, or Cahill at QPR, or Ngog at Everton. That kind of thing just makes me wonder why they can't do it more often.

Which part would you take from which player and what would you end up with?

I'd just take Mark Seagraves!

the most obvious sign about ream is that he doesnt go forward for set pieces, so alonso, steinson are considered stronger in the air. I think he is ok and seems to read a game well enough. Where we have missed Cahill the most is down the other end banging them in.

I may be wrong as I cant be arsed looking it up but I dont think Wheater has a good goalscoring record?

Knightmare deffo doesnt. For a bloke his size he should get 5-10 a season from set pieces. But doesnt. Cos he is a fanny.

None of them are a patch on Gudni Bergsson.

Correction needed: He's a big fanny.

Most of our set pieces hit the wall or the first man. He'd have to be David Lee's size to get most of them on his head.

And as for 10 a season. We've only had 5? players that have managed 10 in 12 years I think. Elmo, Taylor, Anelka, Davo and Ricketts and half of them by popular opinion were "shite"

Last defender to get to 5 I think was Jaidi (or maybe Cahill)

I must be old school then - thinking about scoring at our set pieces!

Aye 10 was a bit OTT.
Cahill got 5 at least last year? And we are missing him as a goal threat IMO

No offence...

BOLLOCKS.

Cahill went up for every delivery. He's as quick (if not quicker).

It's purely because he has the aerial ability of Ricardo Gardner.

Sure I've seen Ream going up for corners.
