Two weeks until the final six games that define the season.
so........
we may as well do what we've done for the majority of this most uncertain, confusing and frustrating of seasons.

What team would you play for the rest of the season?

FWIW - i'd go for yet another experimentation against Swansea and if it works stick with it

3-5-2 a la Wigan.

Steinsonn Davies M Reo Coker Eagles Ricketts
...........Davies K NGog ..............

and when it (inevitably?) goes tits up-Petrov (for Eagles) and Miyachi (Boyata) to revert to 4-4-2
and any of Sordell, Klasnic, Tuncay (thats a laugh!) to replace the most shit at the time of the top two.

we cant match up in a 4-4-2 ( despite the "better" performance against Newcastle we barely matched
a central mid field of Cabaye and Perch with three Davies RC and the Prat) and we just dont look like scoring with one up top.

for me whatever the formation i'd start with SKD from now on in. and i may be going off on one here but i'd consider a recall for Jussi as well.

Seriously do you watch our games? A recall for jussi your fcuking mad! Bogdan has been immense. Baffled by the Eagles over Petrov too, the worst crosser of a ball over the best crosser of a ball hmmm :whack:

That's 3-4-1-1. You missed a player.

For the record, mine would be 4-5-1, with SKD as the lone striker, Petrov and Ryo as the wingers, Sparky, NRC and Pratley (dammit) in the middle, Steinsson, Wheater, Ream and Ricketts across the back and Bogdan in goal. Strikers are very much interchangeable though, and when/if Lee returns, he slots into RW with Petrov and Ryo becoming interchangeable at LW.

Interesting to see so many folk advocating KD up front when not too long ago it was: too old, past his best, not worth another contract, stump,donkey etc,etc. Just saying like.. :mrgreen:

As for Jussi back...why? If Bogdan was playing badly I'd see the sense. He isn't. Quite the opposite in fact.

I think if I was a supporter of any of the other bottom five team i'd be annoyed weve got this 12 day gap and the trip to Dubai. Give the lads a good break, emotionally as much as physically, then get it together on the training pitch (real back to basics). Good, winnable home game to kickstart some motion, real do or die now

Ay but note the cunning use of Ricketts as a pacy two footed defensive midfielder capable of covering and helping out on either flank aswell as down the middle. I just think Steinsson and Wheater on the right is a painfully slow pairing with a tendency to leave a big gap between them for opponents to run through,Mears at least has somepace.Boyata at LB because there is no one else left who can. Ricketts in DM for the same reason.KD,Mavis and Klas on the bench because theyd be more useful for half an hour full pelt than 90 minutes steady/anonymous. It is a worry that Wheater often looks our most effective striker!
