Vague memories of Shipbuilding made me dig out both versions on youtube. Both plenty merit, but Chet Bakers trumpet adds a real melancholy touch to the Costello version.

Now you've got me wanting to dig out Miles Davies's Sketches of Spain.

Sunday shift at work, had to mellow out the Wednesday playlist. August and Everything after, lots of Dylan, mellow Jimi Little Wing, and a bit of Joe Satriani. Was good.

Jo Hamilton's album Gown really is a magnificent piece of work. I know I've mentioned it before and one or two dismissed it on the back of a snippet or two. They've done it no justice at all.

Good choice! I discovered it about this time last year when CAPS recommended it to a former poster we once had called Lofthouse Lower... Lofthouse Lower, at the time, was raving about Absolute Radio 90s... you might want to check that out too!

In anticipation of the new iLiKETRAiNS album I've bought tickets to go and see them in London. Gonna put Spencer Perceval on I think. You should too.

Were talking about them not the other day wondering where they had gone? Have they done anything since Our Earthly Pleasures?

What's happened to Wee Ginge? He got me on to Maximo Park. Some quite brilliant stuff. :oyea:
