Staff meeting today and I was at the back playing Management Speak Bingo (you know the usual: 'going forward' 'wash up' 'employee satisfaction survey') when I came across one I've not heard before. One twonk from Head Office going on about the different divisions utilising our division's Training Department and then he concluded with "... but of course we make no real profit on that, it's all wooden dollars" and then stopped like we all knew what the feck he was talking about.

First heard that about a year ago.

It's not the people who think this stuff up I worry about, it's the vacuum-headed knobs who "pick it up & run with it" (see what I did there ?).

The speed with which pretty senior people "bandwagon" (again !!) this management speak is scary. Plus, they use it in full knowledge that most of the people hearing it have never done so before .... AND think they're clever for doing this. (dis-conceptualisation)

Got an e-mail not to long ago, which was 'cascaded down' obviously. Telling is that one department was moving from the 6th to the 2nd floor with us, as they are similar departments, in what was called 'location synergy'. And why do people always want things by 'close of play', when is that exactly? Just give me a time!

Strangely, these people don't talk like this when they are only with their peers.

At least, to put that differently, not if they don't want me taking the piss out of them ... & typically they don't !!

A good time ago one tried & said, to me ... "that's a good example of active synergic conceptualisation, don't you think ?"

My reply of "I've absolutely no idea" floored the fckr.

I will regularly stop a person & say "I have absolutely no idea what you've just said".
