Just been mulling over the remaining fixtures for the botttom 5 clubs. QPR on paper have the hardest run in with only 1 game remaining against one of the other bottom 5 clubs (Bolton). Also with games against City, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tott to play.

Wigan still have Liverpool, Chelsea, United and Arse.
Blackburn have Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Tott.
Wolves still to play United, Arse and City.

The super whites have City and Tott out of the so called big clubs left.

We have a chance and if we can get our act together the fixtures bode will for us. We can only really blame ourselves from here on in. COYWM

The worst thing is I just have zero confidence in Coyles lot getting much from even the easiest games.

I'm resigned to going now.
Anything better will be a bonus for me, now

I for one appreciate the positivity before the beating. This will be my silver lining this weekend.

I keep trying in my head. It doesn't work. The Wigan match killed me.

When the fixtures came out last year I looked at the start and the run in, we all knew we'd struggle for the first 7 games. And I thought our only saving grace would be the decent run in. After todays game, we only have Spurs at home where we should have struggled, and they have a very poor record at the reebok (not won in last 11 visits i think ?), albeit these records are there to be broken, that said we are ver very bad at the moment.

We could be the team that goes on a run at the end and pulls away from the drop, which i think would be our only saving grace.

For me the Wigan game was crucial and it was the 3rd to last nailin the coffin, we NEED to get 6 points from QPR and Blackburn, or for me we are down. Negative some may, Realist I would say. I'll be at the Reebok next season come what may !

Final point, did anyone see the Sky sports special report on Tax last week, Golds comment about Premier Teams getting relegated to league 2 in order to make money did make me think

That wigan game did it for me too, our remaining fixtures are not the easiest because we can't even beat the teams around us so we are fcuked to put it mildy.

Although we want them to win today at Blackburn, Villa might yet slip in. Bent's injured and after playing us they've got Arsenal away, Chelsea, Liverpool away, Stoke, United away. Thing is they might be alright before then - BUT if they don't win at Blackburn today, and Fulham keep them quiet for half an hour at Villa Park next week, their worms could turn.

After some calculations with the bottom 5 and being reasonably unkind to us (2 wins but only 4 defeats in our remaining games) I have us...getting relegated on goal difference. Edged by QPR.

Fact remains though if we can get wins over Blackburn, QPR and/or Wolves we will be in a great position to survive the drop. Lose 2 of them and we'll need to do one of those 11 from 15 jobs we did a few seasons ago...which I can't see in the current team.

And they'll be thinking exactly the same

Our run in now is probably the easiest of the lot. I just hope we can turn it around. The bonus points against Arsenal and Liverpool were negated by the following two results. I'm at a loss to explain it. Just one bizarre decision after the next. Somehow we've got to match the form in January, if we do we can still get out of it.

5 wins out of 11 and against all the odds (shit manager, shit coaches, shit players) and we're staying up - 35 points will keep us up

Looking at the fixtures you would have to fancy us & Wolves (IMO QPR & B/burn have difficult run ins especially QPR) - therefore if we can't win 5 games out of our remaining fixtures then we fully deserve to go down and Coyle deserves to be sacked.

Saying that, winning 5 out of 11 against any opposition with this shower of shite somehow seems a very tall order

5 wins are a tall order, but you never know in the Barclays Premier League

While we've had Chelsea and City away and lost both, look at what the others have had

Blackburn 1pt (City A, Villa H)
QPR 1pt (Fulham H, Everton H)
Wigan 1pt (Villa H, Swansea H)
Wolves 1pt (Newcastle A, Fulham A - tomorrow)

If Wolves lose tomorrow all four can be disappointed with their return. We're all just as bad as each other and staggering to about 30-32 points...

Look at the last 10

QPR W1 D3 L6
Wolves W1 D5 L4
Blackburn W3 D3 L4
Bolton W2 D2 L6
Wigan W1 D3 L6

Everyone's crap and they're not going to get 5 wins either.

So would I actually. :D We need to ask some Brum fans though if they got a fair trade last season. (Carling, I know)

Exactly as I thought. 32/33pts is probably the magic number this season. I just hope Coyle gives us a chance by spotting that a few scrappy draws playing 4-5-1 between now and the end of the season wouldn't be a bad thing. Particularly if we deny the teams around us points because a couple more 3pt gifts to the likes of Wigan will be the end of it...

That table confirms what I've been thinking i.e. Blackburn appear to be making the best of a bad job in getting out of it. Hope to God I'm wrong but I just cant see us beating them at the bok. To me, that means its any 3 from the other 4.

Wolves 1-0 down after conceding from a corner

THEY'RE ALL JUST AS BAD AS US!
