See, I quite like the Bourne films. Agree with you on Ocean's 12 though.

Thought of another.....The Shawshank Redemption.....it's ok, but people saying it's the best film ever :conf:

I think it's the 'you must see....' that preceded them all, I mean, I've watched all three so don't 'hate' them or owt, just would tell anyone that they're 'must see' material.

I feel exactly the same as you about the Shawshank Redemption. It watchable enough but what was all the hype about?

I just hate that shocked look people have when you tell them you haven't see a certain film...'How can you not have seen that?!'...I just haven't...

Oh, Inception was rubbish I thought, it was all exposition. More like sitting through a lecture than watching a film.

As a technical achievement I can see that it broke boundaries, but as a film ???? Total (& overly long) crap.

Indeed, great cinematography. Completely unoriginal plot. Reminded me most of 'The Mission'.

A good reminder this thread that 'it takes all sorts..". Some people dont like Pulp fiction?

I quite like the odd chick flick - Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Grease & Love actually were all crackers imo.

I managed to sit through the Bourne Identity but thought it was ludicrous. Oceans 11 & 12 did nowt for me so I cant imagine I'll ever watch the other 10. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, in fact any kind of hoblin & goblin crap that's really for kids will never get me into the cinema.

Two films that came higly recommended which I gave up on after about an hour were 'Its a wonderful life' and 'Sideways'

The Bourne films are good. They're certainly genre defining. The Matrix was similar, and they suffer from sinilar deficiencies, in that once the trick is out there, the sequels don't have the same impact, and everyone is copying them. But certainly groundbreaking if nothing else.

Not having that. Masterpiece. Throw in the Marx Bros. and I can't see us getting along.

While we're here- Memento, the Indiana Jones films, Die Hard and The Maltese Falcon. Certainly not hate-worthy, but overrated for sure.

Anything with Tom Cruise in it has me reaching for the vomit bag.

Not a film, but Bill Oddie turning up on my television just now has reminded me as to what a living-pinching bunch of unfunny tossers The Goodies were!

Admittedly, I was a youngster when the show was on, so my judgement may be somewhat clouded.

Each were plural entities?

I didn't know that.

What I do know is that each of them 'weren't' funny.

I was getting my Boltonish on. We have a habit of using only the plural when speaking...

also, my spidey-senses are saying that should be 'each was' but I'm drunk so idk

Well, yeah.

Admittedly everything he's made after that have been complete home-runs, but I wasn't particularly fussed with it.
