Turned it off after the first goal.....only caught the last 5 minutes of the first half of rugby.

Ben Youngs needs to go out for a pint with Darren Pratley.

And Foden too.

Fook me.

(warning: post may contain cliches!)

well... as I was expecting a total dicking - I thought there were a lot of positives to take out of that (to use the dreaded phrase)

this is a young side that will only get better

am sure the welsh will be delighted to have won - but... they certainly didn't embarrass us

defensively we were pretty darned awesome... still limited in attack - but build a solid base, n'all - the platform for flair will come..

STILL think we are juts too impatient - trying to force an opening sometimes when patiently going through the phases and building pressure would be more effective... but - overall - considering what we expected - could have been a shitload worse!

and... has to be said - that was a fecking KNOCK-ON that instead of leading to pressure scrum to us with one of theirs in the sinbin - actually led to a penalty to wales...

(and - it WAS a try - though I suppose the footage was inconclusive!)

Yes - I was generally pleased with the way the team performed. Young team, generally rose to the occasion, and could have snatched a draw.

Getting beaten by a better team, I can understand.

Getting beaten by a team, because of some individual errors is galling.

Getting beaten by the Welsh, is about as unforgivable as it comes.

But plenty of hope there...

The TV adjudicating panel of Dai bach Thomas, Owen Morgan and Dylan Rees decided "No try" as "We'll keep a welcome in the hillsides" was heard playing in the background.

Only saw the second half and we were leading 12-9. Thought we had it.

I thought that too. How can you have the video ref being from one of the nations that's playing in the contest.

Bloody stupid.

As it happens, I didn't see anything either, that would have merited with any degree of certainty that a try should have been awarded.

He said that quite a lot when he was in charge of England.

In fairness, they should have beaten England and could have beaten France.

If you didn't know, France and Ireland drew 17-17.

I've just tuned into this thread. V v v disappointed. I was expecting it to be about the Iroquois.

The original Iroquois League was often known as the Five Nations, as it was composed of the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga and Seneca nations. After the Tuscarora nation joined the League in 1722, the Iroquois became known as the Six Nations. :P

I'm not so sure. I think the Onondagas will stuff them at home. 8)
