Has Rhys Bennett gone to Falkirk?

Good to get him on loan somewhere. Meant to be decent.

Look for something on Eaves going out on loan in the coming days

From the little I saw of him against Man. U. researves, Eaves looked like a good player who can make the grade, and a ready made replacement for KD when he decides to concentrate on coaching.

A loan out next season would be a good move for both Eaves and BWFC.

Rhys Bennett played 45 minutes for Falkirk in a friendly against Leeds United. The Falkirk forum had him as one of the stand out performances. 19 years old, 6' 3" with a bit of pace. I hope he gets the chance to gain some experience up there before we throw him on the scrapheap.

Great name for a forum

Quote:
Rhys Bennett.........a hugely impressive debut. The guy has hardly kicked a ball since January, but looked to be a class above anyone we've had at centre back in the last few years. I heard he is highly rated at Bolton, and on tonight's evidence, it's easy to see why.
I reckon Snodgrass wouldn't have got near the cross for their second goal had Bennett still been on the park.

Scored tonight in a friendly against Hibs.

Rhys Bennett is still getting rave reviews for Falkirk. I hope the lad can continue to gain valuable experience. A few comments from the Preston and Hibs games.

Quote:
I counted one mistake (and maybe more unlucky than anything) from Bennett, and the boy does look to be destined for greater things. He can apply an injection of pace when needed, and other than the one minor blip, he so far, has had the measure of any opposing forward, and we haven't conceded a single goal to an opposing player with him on the park.

Quote:
Bennett made a few silly errors but looks another Rio Ferdinand.

Quote:
Bennett - Solid. Physical, good in the air and picks passes. One mistake on a 50-50 ball but escaped punishment. This lad looks the part without question, cheers Owen.

Quote:
Flynn, Bennett, Kingsley and Dodds all played well.

Quote:
Bennett settling in nicely, solid as was Dodds.

Quote:
I agree, but it was nice to have something positive to hold onto. For once, a loan player who looked like another club's prospect rather than another club's dud.

Going solely on the strength of what I saw tonight (and I have nothing other than those 45 minutes to go on), had someone said to me "in a year's time, that guy will be featuring in the first team squad of a mid table Premiership team" I saw nothing that would make me think they were lying.

PS I don't think Bennett scored against Hibs. He had been substituted prior to the goal.

They scored after only four minutes when Millar took a great corner from the left and Rhys Bennett rose above everyone to head firmly past Mark Brown.

Rhys played the full 90 minutes for Falkirk in their cup game against Brechin City and even got the opening goal in their 2-1 victory

Falkirk beat Dundee. Bennett looked a class apart apparently.

Just a few quotes from my second favourite forum (Onefinfalkirk)

Quote:
Stand outs for me were Bennett who sticks out like a sore thumb at this level, keep it simple pal and you will stroll it no need to over do it

Quote:
Favourite moment in the game was Bennett with about five minutes to go. He got the ball in the fullback position, and ran, and ran, then, tackled, won it back and ran a bit more. Does he think he's a winger or something?

Quote:
Bennett - If he keeps this up Bolton will have him sold before he gets back to the Reebok. Class act and solid with it tonight

Quote:
Really hard to pick out a MOTM but I would say Bennett and Duffie were in contention.

Quote:
Bennett, whilst rash in thinking at times looked good & could be trusted to beat men whilst moving upfield. Something that could prove extremely useful as the season progresses.

Quote:
Bennett is so far better than this league it is unreal.

Quote:
He's still very learning his craft, but if Rhys Bennett isn't holding down a berth in Premiership team in the not too distant future, I'll be amazed.

Quote:
Bennett is a class act. Would love to have him all season but I would suspect he will be sent somewhere more challenging in January to continue his development.

Quote:
Bennett at the back was my MOM by a country mile and looks far to good for the SPL never mind this division.

Saw him telling Shittu what to do at Fleetwood two years ago, and had high hopes for him ever since. Good on him.

Been playing centre back, apparently he went up front at the end of a game the other week though.
