Should we have flown out to Spain

Should we have asked him to nip back

FFS, if he didn't see he's coming he's as thick as toastie loaf

You're seriously suggesting that at no point, before he left for Spain (assuming he has left for Spain), the Club couldn't have found the opportunity to talk face to face with an employee who's given six years good service to us?

Whether he saw it coming or not isn't the issue here, he played 90 mins in the West Ham and Boro games - so maybe he didn't see it coming, it's not like he'd been frozen out of the team for months...

You didn't see some of his antics during his last season, then

There was a chance we'd need to use him

Sulky chops couldn't have been relied on

Use em and abuse em

Tis the way these days

Players do it to clubs, clubs do it to players

You're old enough to know the craic

I'm old enough to know what common courtesy is about yes. Telling people they're fired by phone is a shithouse way.

I'll ask again then

Seeing as he couldn't be trusted to behave, him to us, or us to them

Is there some sort of question here? If so please try and articulate it and I'll respond :-)

Anyhow there's now a fans response section on Guillem's website :-)

Lubomir Michalik after getting sold to Leeds Utd came back to the Reebok and watching a match he did the golden gamble at half time. Surely something like that would've been a warm welcome for Ivan Campo especially considering the amount of people that would be singing his name one last time.

I think its sad to see us giving a Lubo more of a connection to the club than we gave Ivan.

How do you know he isn't going to do the Golden Gamble draw next season? Your having a go at the club for something that hasn't happened yet. By the time of the last Golden Gamble draw he was still playing for the club and we still could've gone down.

Anyway, it's all water under the bridge now although i'm sure he'll be back at the Reebok in some capacity before too long. He was a brilliant servant for the club and will rightfully take his place up there with the best in the clubs history, so i'd like to thank him for that and wish him all the best for the future. We'll be lucky if we see another midfielder with his natural class and ability at the Reebok anytime soon.

I see someone on there says "see www.boltonbanter.com " for reaction? Off topic, but does that site still exist? I came from there to here after realising I didn't like half the people there. Every time I click the link it just says "cannot resolve host" so I thought the site had died...has it not? Just wondering!

Bolton Banter is still there. It has Mich Caine and the artist formerly known as Fanz which tells you all you need to know.

Anyhoo, back to topic. I'd like to suggest mummy's letter go on the front page, and we then send it in an e-mail to the Ballague web site with all the other tribute contributions posted here. Yes or no?

This is a very long thread, all because Campo has opened a letter...

It was wierd, after I made a donation towards a prize it all went a bit pairshaped.

There was one poster on there I fecking hated, arrogant piece of shit, almost single handedly made me want to post elsewhere.

But no, definitely can't access the site.

I didn't say we wouldn't give him the Golden Gamble draw next season. But the send off Ivan Campo has had so far has been less than what we gave Michalik which is what is pretty sad. Campo could have the golden gamble in 20 years time so its hard to criticise at all if thats the case, but at present it is sad to see the send off he was given if indeed that letter is true.
