No, Mummy already did that when he claimed a news story about a certain Jon Sharples wasn't about him - still it's best to be cautious. Welcome Matty - what's your secret identity.

Hi Matt, well done for negotiating our idiot-filter sign-up process successfully in the end. ;)

Let's just hope no potential employers bash my name into Google and connect me to some of the nonsense I've spouted on here....!

I think you'll be okay. When I stuck your name in google I just got your golf record.
Quote:
J.M. Sharples & M.D.S. Webster lost to B.J. Peacock & R.C. Bell 4&3
J.M. Sharples lost to D.J. Robson 2&1
Sharples and Allen lost to Weston and Dill 2/1
Sharples halved with Grout

It did, however, cause some problems on the greens, particularly for the duo of Jon Sharples and Harry Westall, who lost their ball when it lay just six feet from the hole.

Hmm. Not very good, is it? :D Still, a half point could be important.

Ha, actually a different Jon Sharples who played Oxbridge golf a good few years before I started. The only person mentioned there that I have met is Mr Westall, Oxford capatin in 2003.

You really should have noticed that the background of that website is a rather unpleasant shade of dark blue.

Yes, but the washed out blue websites have remarks like these:

Quote:
The pairing of Paddy Croft and Jon Sharples went off top and, despite a scratchy couple of holes around the turn, managed to secure a relatively comfortable 3&2 win.

Of special note was the win of Gerald Powell and Jon Sharples, who agreed to take on West Hill's star scratch golfer.

Off top in the morning, Paddy Croft and Jon Sharples, having flown in from Holland two days previously, found themselves up against two category 1 golfers - one the club champion from 2005! Despite some brilliant holes - they birdied 2, 13 and 14 - the constant quality of opposition was hard to wear down and they eventually capitulated 2&1.

Steve Barnett and Jon Sharples snatched a win despite Steve losing 3 balls in the first 8 holes!

There's no fun in posting that sort of nonsense!
