OK, it's not much, but it's a little ray of light!

Aye a win for our reserve team against Oldham. Bit different than the first XI playing Chelsea though.

It was a good game as well, if not a bit on the cold side. Archie Knox was calling the shots with Jimmy now where in sight. I would imagine he'll have been having some pretty serious meetings with the rest of the coaching staff today.

The lads played well apart from the first 20 mins of the second half and moved the ball around nicely.

Special mention to Michael Burns who caused plenty or problems down the wing and topped it off with a nice goal and Tom Brocklehurst who made some important saves. Also Wolze looked good when he came on, he makes the game look very easy and had some real touches of class, especially with some quick feet in the lead up to the last goal.

We've heard good things about Wolze from warthog yet he seems to only make the bench when he's picked. Should he be getting more starts?

He's a really good player.

He's got that sort of class about which makes him look likes he's got a lot of time on the ball and makes things look very easy with some nice flicks and quick feet. I think the the reason he doesn't get the starts in the reserves is he's 17 so really still a very young lad.

But you do look at him and think if he adds on some inches and builds up a bit he could be very good player. I know Warthog rates him and I tend to agree, certainly out of all the players that get games in reserves he is the one who most makes you think he has that touch of class.

i live down the road from the county ground, and popped down tonight. wolze did impress when he came on, and i was also impressed with cassidy and sissons in midfield. i saw them play on a few occasions last season, and they seemed to dominate the game tonight in the middle of the park. thought jamieson struggled a bit at left back which surprised me as ive heard positive reports about him.

Young? If he was Georgian he'd probably be in the national squad by now.

I agree.

they both played a tidy game in midfield and seem to link up very well. Moved the ball between them well and we they got the ball down we looked a good team and played some nice football

Sod's law being what it is I didn't go tonight. Interesting to hear about Cassidy and Sissons. The link up play between those two was one of the main reasons we did so well last season. Yet Cassidy has barely played this time.

For those having doubts about the opposition, we played them last year in the same competition and lost 6-0.

Good to hear that Wolze did well, he's definitely a cut above. He also plays for the youth team at the weekends which goes some way to explaining his limited use in the reserves.
