Worse than Steven Seagal's or Jackie Chan's offerings?

Ah, I refuse to watch any of that kind of guff, so don't know. But ocean's 12 is by far and away the biggest pile of fetid horseshit that I ever did see.

I'll add to the mix anything by Richard Curtis. Love Actually, Four Weddings and all that shizzle. Chick flick shit.

I've been thinking about this and struggling, cos I actually enjoy most filums.

I didn't think Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was great, but the reviewers did, so.....I guess that.

Oh and any of those kids films on at Christmas like Shrek (any of them) and Toy Story etc, utter bilge.

Anything my missus wants to watch is gold-plated GUARANTEED to be crap. And she nods off half way through and I end up having to explain the story line.

Oh, that reminds me - the only film that I've ever fallen asleep in the pictures to was Bram Stoker's Dracula, which, as I recall, was shoite (though it may have got better, I wouldn't know  )

See, I quite like the Bourne films. Agree with you on Ocean's 12 though.

Thought of another.....The Shawshank Redemption.....it's ok, but people saying it's the best film ever :conf:

I think it's the 'you must see....' that preceded them all, I mean, I've watched all three so don't 'hate' them or owt, just would tell anyone that they're 'must see' material.

I feel exactly the same as you about the Shawshank Redemption. It watchable enough but what was all the hype about?

Hmmm. I've got approx.~150 DVDs of films, and there are only four of those films that I've watched on multiple occassions and still really enjoy, and Shawshank Redemption is one of them; so on that score, I'd disagree with Annoyed/Bruce. But each to their own.

(the other three 'greats' are
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Constantine
and Samantha Does Paris Altered States)

Oops. I've just realised I adore another 'classic' that people like to slag off: "Dances With Wolves". It's the only film I've had an argument in a pub about. Proper argument too, fisticuffs, rozzers called. I got let off with a warning because the Desk Seargeant liked it too. At least that's the version of history I spread about.

I'm with earlier posters on De Niro. Raging Bull sends me narcoleptic.

Sexy Beast

Requiem for a Dream

I rate Withnail and I. I remember most of it, even though I first watched it decades ago, but every time I put it on to watch again I grow bored of it within minutes and end up watching Alien or somesuch.

When I was a student the in film of the moment was Harold & Maude. I detested it.

I can safely say my top 10 would have none of the above in. :-)

Films about the "mafia" - get over yourselves, you're all the freaking same.

^ is the right answer!

(blimey - I thought I was writing summat controversial when I said Godfather... but even Worthy agrees!!)

I'll give you some targets to firebomb. I'm happy to enjoy these without any knicker-twisting, deep, meaningful analysis:

The Godfather series.
Dirty Dancing.
Narnia.
