Seriously uninteresting in every way.

PS - All those dissing Godfathers I and (especially) II are out of order and should be punished by a lifetime diet of Carry On and Norman Wisdom and dentistry without anesthetic...

Similar to those who don't understand Lord of the Rings. I'll raise you a lifetime of Benny Hill and Coronation Street - as a concession, I don't mind what drugs you do, because I'm not that cruel.

Feck - I'd mercifully forgotten Lord of the Rings - or, at least, the first... since I couldn't bear the thought of the next two offerings of hours of tedium... Yep - a rival to LDV...

An American immigration officer once let me in because I agreed with him that Benny hill was the funniest thing on the planet (this in a small windowless room, after being refused entry on some spurious nonsense, with 11 year old daughter in tears, and he suddenly started talking about Benny Hill and loving Brit comedy...)

See, if you have got straight into terminally boring shite like Godfather, he'd have turfed you.

Thank God for Sir Benny of Hill.

I normally love De Niro but can't stand Taxi Driver or Deer Hunter.

Will add my name to Anchorman too, and Zoolander...

Crash- 2004 Best film oscar winner? Contrived, finger-wagging bilge. Racism is bad? I had no idea!
The Birds- Always been left very cold by Hitchcock films and this one is the worst offender. Not scary. Not interesting. Frenzy was also crap but generally people agree on that.
Hero- award-friendly "respectable" martial arts film? Hero was bullshit. How dare you try and neuter my chopsocky! Got 5/5 stars from just about everyone that hadn't seen a decent 80s Jackie Chan flick.
Scarface- badly overrated. It's barely a decent film.

I'll admit to being a film snob and get a sinking feeling when someone writes a top 10 and they start going- Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Usual Suspects, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Scarface...argh! Good God man, develop an opinion of yer own! But that's beside the point- I'm an opinionated sod with films and I'll happily contribute to this thread all week. :D

Can't believe some of the films I'm seeing in here! Maybe because I'm a huge fan of Bobby D! I guess that's the point of the thread...

Anyway, Resevoir Dogs, Fight Club, Shaun of the Dead,

Seriously though...people don't like The Godfather?

Nearly anything American, with an American theme.

So.

All the fecking Godfather's- terminally boring.
Aliens (either alone or Vs Predators)
Stuff with "The Terminator" in it.
Most Sci-Fi....so Star Wars n stuff.

Pretty much all this, and I'll add:

Sex, lies & Videotapes - utter shite but hailed as brilliant.

To : De Niro, Hoffman, Woody Allen, Eddie Murphy, Meryl Streep and Whoopi Goldberg - please don't make any more.

Res Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Anything with Jim Carey
Austin Powers
American Beauty
Anything with Will Ferrel
Godfather Films
Anything with Tom Cruise

So a bit like, talk in a painfully slow, pseudo US/Italian drawl, kill some people, talk some more in a pseudo US/Italian drawl, kill some more people, repeat for the next 6 hours. :-)

I can safely say my top 10 would have none of the above in. :-)

Films about the "mafia" - get over yourselves, you're all the freaking same.

Never been a particular fan of those Bourne films. The worst film EVER for me though was Ocean's 12 :hang:

Can't stand:

Anything supernatural.
Anything Zombie, werewolf or general "horror".
Science fiction in general (although "Contact" was a decent film).
One man saves the world type rubbish. (almost always American)

I'll give you some targets to firebomb. I'm happy to enjoy these without any knicker-twisting, deep, meaningful analysis:

The Godfather series.
Dirty Dancing.
Narnia.
Casablanca.
Pride and Prejudice (BBC series)
Most Westerns.
Period dramas based on classic literature.
Fred Astaire films (all of em)
Most dance films.
The Kings Speech.
British dramas like Saturday Night, Sunday Morning, Room at the Top, type stuff.

and lots more.

The Matrix was one that I was told I "Had to see". I lasted about 5 minutes.

Worse than Steven Seagal's or Jackie Chan's offerings?
