I was amazed when I heard this story. What was wrong with them walking up the steps and meeting him right off the plane? It smacks of officers fancying a brew in Starbucks then stood in arrivals with a board saying 'Armed Robber' waiting for him to meekly surrender himself.

Another chance to get an investigation going with everybody blaming everybody else. Massive hunt now takes place costing a small fortune in police time and manpower. Great stuff lads. I'd suggest as little usage of the word "security" as possible.

That terminal 3, always skiving off!

Not even by the guy who opened the door to let him by.

Sometimes the answer is in the question.
Did he get through an unauthorised route ? ... Yes.
So a breach took place ? ... er, no, no ... not at all.

Someone senior covering a series of asses here methinks.

I think they were said to have acted appropriately in not challenging the intruder and merely reporting him to security. Quite right too - you wouldn't catch me making a citizen's arrest of an armed robber - if fact you wouldn't see me for dust in all probability.

You would rather hope he was an unarmed robber, having just got off an aircraft...

Who knows given the level of security and swizzle sticks can be deadly.
