Am I ok to chuck insoles in them and carry on?

How's the grip? You should be good for 500 miles per pair.

The grip, as indeed the rest of the trainer (both of) is superb. I suppose they've just lost a bit of springy-ness with having my corpulent abundance hammering down on them!

ok - still not really sure what is wrong with my knee - though it is nothing major - but I have been told not to go running and referred for a course of physiotherapy!!

so - that's me off the hook!

So no impact training. What about running in water? Sounds silly but a lot of runners will do this whilst recovering from injury to maintain the aerobic fitness but limiting stress on the joints.

I presume you can still swim and/or cycle?

I thought that was the CEO's prerogative.

Cross trainer's your thang, Bish. No (or very little) stress on your joints.

Dropped my car off in Little Lever today for a service and decided to use the opportunity to run home. It was longer and hotter than I realised. I was baked to a crisp by the time I got onto my street and the ice bath I had straight away, probably means I wont be seeing my testicles again until about Jubilee weekend :?

I just got a pair of Superfeet for my walking boots. Cost £35 but I wish I'd done it years ago. Feels like I'm walking on air by comparison to the insoles I had.

Ahh, they'll clearly be superior to the Kiwi fleece things that I've just bought down Asda then?! :?

That reminds me of when I got dobbed in to the back crawl swimming race at school. I started off in lane one and came last in lane three! :(

:D Cheeky minx!

Bruce  Had something similar happen to me in the army. First time on a rifle range and the CO came counting up our scores out of 30. He starts counting mine up and was obviously about to fast track me to sniper school when he realised the poor bloke next to me had been firing at my target as well. Cue lots of effing and jeffing and then he scrawled in chalk a big 'D' on the blokes cap

Just played an hours 5-a-side. It's been a while since I've had to get the frozen peas out for non-eating purposes :(

I've started back this week with my speed endurance coach.

40 minutes continuous effort.

Find a big hill and run up and down it for 10 minutes at 70% effort
Shorten the distance by 1/4 and increase the effort to 80%
Halfway up the hill and run at 90%
3/4 up and sprint as fast as you can

To warm down do 10 squats, 10 lunges and 10 press ups
Repeat 4 times

I also ran 1 mile there and 1 mile back from home.

Knackered.

Further to my return to running on the treadmill I ran another 5K a week ago in a decent time 27 min ish. Ankle hurt a bit and the next time I ran it hurt a lot but I soldiered on.

After more swelling over the last couple of days I finally had it checked out - turns out I've been running on a fractured ankle.

Bastard - weeks in a cast now. :(
