And if I do this right this is my Megan... now sadly no longer with us.

Megan and I walked all the Lake District hills together, all 214 of them, and had lots of swaps left over at the end too. best years of my life walking with this dog. This is her on Place Fell in 2001.

Aye. Prince's and Princess's of dogs alright.
What she excels at when I take her running is route finding. Never gone wrong with her yet. She just knows instinctively what a path is (she probably smells them) and will run out in front of me until she comes to a junction, and then waits for me to tell her which way. This means that in fog or nasty weather (including snow) she never loses a path and I never miss a junction. [Of course if we went down the wrong path because I'd not done my homework correctly, then we'd still get 'lost', but that's not happened yet, paws/fingers crossed]. When we did the Lakeland Challenge back in 2006, there was heavy mist over the top of ScaFell Pike with competitors struggling to keep to the rocky summit path, but with her help our team was straight over with no bother.

What a great pic, Clapton. She's absolutely lovely, Fella.

Oscar said that he'd noted that you didn't rate the picture of him, and said that he's going to post you some of his biz in an envelope. :D

I've seen and 'liked' that picture of Oscar before!

I know. I'll point that out to him but I think he's already posted you his special envelope :D

Going to try him out running on Saturday - see how he gets on. He's such a wuss though and cowers behind my legs when he sees another dog. :?

Is that what he's saying in the photo? "Please, please don't make me walk through this park. Please. There's other dogs."

No, he's saying "If I look at you all cute, can I have the last ham sandwich please?" ;)

Went ok thanks! No real pain and only very occasionally today when crawling through tunnels and up stairs and around in ball pools whilst at soft play with the kids. Was last training of the season :-( suppose I had best get back to running. Not sure I'm gonna do much track and field this season.

Because of the knee? Everything you do sounds like it's a high impact on the legs. Have you thought of trying something with less impact? Depends on if you like the cardio bit, the pushing yourself bit, or the competitive bit.

Yeah, i have done a fair amount of high impact stuff in the past. When triple jumping your joints can take your weight x about 10, giving the forces and speed involved. Probably partly explains why my knee is knackered! Abused it a bit too much over the years! Won't do as much track and field this season partly cos of younger better athletes who train can probably do far better then me these days, matches far away and lack of time at the weekend now we have the kids. I enjoy field athletics and the competition. Not so keen on track cos i'm crap and everyone watches the track atheletes! Love playing team games, football etc. Theres some tournaments in the summer our team has entered so maybe i'll play in one of those.

You got your running shoes yet?!

Argh. There's a running shop very close to here, I went in but the guy was serving someone and they all looked very expensive (that's my excuse). :D
