I really don't like vandalism of any kind. I hate violence in all it's forms. People can do as they please in my opinion as long as it doesn't inconvenience others and stays within the majority of the more sensible laws. You can all drink, smoke and shag who you like as long as you upset no one.

However I do have a problem with the fountain thing - I find it funny. It's not big or clever, but does it really hurt anyone? Is anyone really inconvenienced? I don't know so I'm throwing it open and on the basis of this vote I will hold my views.

Oh and before anyone asks - IT WASN'T ME - OK!!!!!!

Well there was meant to be a poll attached I filled in the boxes, not no joy.

Oh well I'll just keep enjoying them all foamed up.

No harm done in foaming up fountains. It's the feckers who leave their beer cans in 'em that I object to. Or is the dregs what causes the foaming?

I have too much time on my hands...

I think the answer is... if it costs money to put right then it's as unacceptable as painting BWFC over the walls.

I'm not sure it cost them any money, but it sure was funny watching them trying to clean it.

They started my getting a hose on it, which made mroe of the stuff, and had to resort to a spade and shovelling it out.

People working on it and struggling in the process = money. Therefore, you have my answer.

Killjoy? Me?

Trust me, they probably had nothing to do.

That is one dead place.

They were trying to fix up their Christmas lights over the top of all this! There were crews with ladders all foamed up. It was like the keystone cops meets manumission.

Incidentally, I nearly bumped into kev. I met his mates in the 'quiet' square whilst he was hanging a flag from the balcony.

I also met SAMHATER. Actually a thoroughly nice lad. He does support the team and the manager, but has issues with Sam the person (not for this forum)

Also met perfan at Stansted. Not what you would expect. I thought she was a he for a start! (that is, I thought the person who logs on as perfan would be male)

I'd have no truck with that sort of vandalism, and vandalism it is.

As has already been pointed out, someone, no doubt the local government employees, had to clean the things out. I doubt that the washing liquid did them any favours in that respect. If the fountains (and many do) use a recycling system, then heaven's only knows what damage could be done to the operating mechanism. If they don't (or even if they do, I surmise), where does the overspill finish up? In the drinking water reservoir? Down a local stream?

Out and out stupidity in my books. I hope that's clear enough, Billy. :(

enfieldwhite: Great to hear you managed to meet a few TWers so far from home. I'm surprised you were surprised that Perfan is a lady as she's been one as long as I've known her in the cyberworld.

I found them extremely funny, and the guy who though of that (more than a few were done by the way) could become a bit of a cult hero for the future (hopefully) european away days

I'm afraid I'm with that killjoy ( ) Dujon on this one. We have no idea of the consequences in terms of damage to the fountain's infrastructure or the ecological environment. Perhaps none at all, but the perpetrators don't know that. Pranks may be mildly amusing at first glance but with a little thought the funny side often vanishes.

Monty you really are a miserable killjoy aren't you ? Anyway I totally agree with you.

I take it whoever made all the mess with the fountains didnt offer to clean it up once the joke was over ?
