Dear West Ham fan of unknown gender.

I have the privilege of knowing a few West Ham fans and they are generally a nice bunch. I congratulated them on their victory in the play off finals, something we as Bolton fans have experienced in the (not too distant) past.

The problem with your post is that it will, at some stage, come back to bite you in the arse. You have assembled a squad at some expense that just managed to get you out of the Championship. If you think you're going to survive with that squad you are sadly deluded. I heard on the radio the other day that the board are putting up season ticket prices to fund your spending this summer. That may work, it may not. What it does tell me is that you don't currently have funds to buy the players you need to compete in the Premiership. I hope you survive, I really do. But don't come on here gloating about relative positions, because you see, for all your protestations, we aren't too far apart. Nor will we be at the end of the season. You are not Newcastle.

Those all-time league table efforts are great, we're a founding member of the league and have never spent a year out of it. Slag us off for crowds all you want (although is averaging over 20,000 for 10 years all that bad?), but we've spent over seventy years playing in the top flight.......the Premier League isn't when football fecking started.

The point about us and West Haaaam being similar are valid, we're both medium-sized clubs with bigger neighbours who we'll never compete with, difference is that we know it and have come to understand it....whereas, at the academy of football (they all love their mums - god bless 'em), they refuse to believe it.

Hang-on with these all time league tables! He used last twenty years sky tables! All time (until the start of last season, when we were in it and they weren't!) we were 13th on 28.. and they were 20th on 23.. So all time wise. 1-0. In fairness for all this cock-waving we're about the 'same-size', both good shouts for biggest club to never win the top flight (both highest of 3rd).

And broke record attendances home and away? For whom? Yourselves? Coz Newcastle and Sunlan both got more every week at that level that your ground can even hold!
