He has the ability...just needs to 'man up' and take on some responsibility.

I'm with WTW on this.

You seem to base most of your opinions on him around the fact he was "grinning" rather than how he plays - whilst I sort of understand, somewhat, that getting beaten should engender a suitable period of mourning, I'm not going to crucify anyone for smiling at an oppo player..

I'm pretty happy with that deal going through. When I saw him for Leicester at the start of the season, I was impressed with him. He's not remarkable or anything, but I'd say he's good enough for a top Championship/lower Premiership side. If you look at the sides who wanted him, they aren't bad at all - Norwich and Celtic were probably our biggest rivals, so it could be seen as a good deal for us considering we aren't paying anything up front and he chose us over a bigger club in Celtic and a Premiership club in Norwich.

Here's hoping everything works out and we get the player who Leicester thought they were getting.

Likely the best/only offer on the table...

I'd rather he was arsed about pulling his finger out on the pitch instead.

I have less problem with Zat grinning at a former Fulham colleague than I do with his occasional howling loss of concentration and questionable lack of physical presence, considering his size. I also think he quite possibly didn't have a better offer. However, he *should* be good in the second tier and I'll try to give him a clean slate, especially if he helps gives us clean sheets - although with Ream and Mills, he shouldn't be automatic first-choice. (Nobody should, yet.)

So what was the second deal expected to be done this week, that Sanchez fella?

Was it two plus Zat? Probably Sanchez, then. Or Keef Andrews?

Mills seem to be a sensible signing with very little risk. Zat Knight?

Zat Knight might be good enough for the Championship. He was so shite last year though and I'd much prefer not being reminded of his shiteness, so I'd rather get rid of him.

I hope its Keith Andrews. Could do with someone like him in the middle of the park at grounds like Turf next year. plenty of fire and spirit.

Big Ged got plenty of those in his time. We need a bit of that.

So anyway, has the Matt Mills deal gone through, or is it just papertalk?

I must admit a little frustration at our transfer policy, or more accurately our scouting. How is it that a club like Wiggin can come up with a great range of players from a multitude of continents and yet we can't??

What happened to our Scandinavian connections? Why aren't we looking a players from across Europe, where wages are fairly low compared to England?

It could be argued that the Premiership policy of having x amount of players from your own youth system and x amount from the same country has hampered our ability to work under the constraints we used to. So we had to open up markets elsewhere such as looking for players from the lower leagues as opposed to unearthing gems from across Europe/Africa.

We essentially targetted players under Megson that were English and repeated the same feat with Owen Coyle. Unfortunately those players are dearer and less talented than the same amount could buy from a foreign country. I'd love us to start signing more foreigners, each player had their own interesting back story about what life was like growing up abroad and how hard they had to work to get here. Now its a case of each player has gone through the same thing.

Look to the foreigners again, maybe young ones that can be sold on a profit if thats OC's bag.

Agree with this, our sole focus abroad, appears to be in Spain, although this Sanchez fella I think plays in France.
