Someone posted your match report on a Fulham forum and it seemed about right to me.

What I would say is that there is probably grounds for hope. While you were easily one of the worst *teams* we've seen at the Cottage this year, most of your players seem better than this. To me this suggests that someone ought to be able to turn things around.

I don't know if Jaaskelainen is one of those goalkeepers who looks good when you see him on MOTD but isn't much use in real life (see Paul Robinson) but he always looks alright against us. I like Reo-Coker and Muamba, and Cahill and Davies give you a nice looking spine. Klasnic always seems to do okay against us, too.

What I didn't understand was the absence of Chris Eagles. As soon as he was on the pitch the class shone through. To me a player of that quality ought to have been on from the start, and preferably in a position to touch the ball as often as possible. A Muamba - Reo-Coker - Eagles midfield three would surely match up fairly well with most teams?

But something seems a bit wrong. We watched Blackburn and their players simply didn't look good enough, but I didn't feel the same against Bolton. Just that somehow the team is less than the sum of its parts (this may be what we used to call the Zat Knight effect).

Last year in the cup I got good tickets near the dugouts and was surprised at how little constructive Coyle had to say during the game. Lots of 'go on Ivan!' but not much else. I wonder if he's simply one of those managers who got very lucky in his initial stint but has been exposed now. Any half-decent coach ought to at least make your squad hard to beat: steady back four protected by the aforementioned midfield, maybe a bit of pace on a wing to work with on the counter, but GRIND, GRIND, GRIND. Roy Hodgson could save you *this* season simply by organising the defence (which I repeat: any half-bright coach should be able to achieve, too).

Anyway, good luck, and hopefully this won't be the season when the Blackburn Bolton Fulham promotion three get split up. I don't know why this matters but it's always nice to play against these teams.

Bests
Rich

Mate,

Lets be honest here, you only want us in the Prem because of the guaranteed 3 points we give you every season at the Cottage.

We loved West Ham for the same reason (although they usually gave us 6). We would've been on 12 points by now if we'd already played them. :-)

Do we have to read your anti-Coyle bullshit on every fecking thread on this forum? We get it, you want him sacked, try changing the tune for once, there's a lot this Fulham fan has posted about that isn't to do with the manager.

A good summary mate. We have the players; so what's gone wrong?
