I'm shocked that coyle is still there we are deep in the shit now that sunderland have won today too, yet gartside and e.davies don't seem arsed :conf:

Graeme Souness is as bad as Megson appointment wise. He didn't want to sign for us when he got offered an interview and was told there wouldn't be much funds and now when we've got a worse squad I can't see that situation being any different.

Alan Curbishley is as close to an Allardyce appointment that I can see than anyone else. Yet times have moved on since he was with Charlton. Makes you wonder if he's kept up.

Souness pulled out when he realised the interview process was just designed to get Megson the job?

That was pretty much the top and tail of it.

Megson's ex-agent and good buddy running the process. Souness figured it was hardly a fair fight.

but souness's agent were there too.

itk fact.

we didnt have the money souness wanted- wages , money for players, players wages , whatever.

maybe its different now.

desperate times and that. they shud go for hughes if "moneys no object" .

souness likes his tv work too much.

hughes'd probably be cheaper and more realistic.

Souness' agent would have been there too. You'd expect him to be. He wasn't however running the recruitment. Mark Curtis was acting as advisor to Bolton.

Souness' view was that it wasn't a straight race and that effectively it had already been decided. Having Mark Curtis in his [Souness'] interview when Megson was a candidate, Souness decided that he was never going to win anyhow and withdrew.

Re-sign Owen Coyle? Cause that seems to be the appointment your looking for.

No, he says he tries to get us attacking. There is not an iota of evidence we (collectively) try anything, they just go out and make it up as they go along. That's what all the pointing is for, coz nobody has a clue what they should be doing. Organisation, absolutely, but there has to be a positive mindset too. None of this 0-0 backs to the wall nick a 1-0 for a whole year. People say we're going down because we have bad players, I disagree, we're going down because they are badly managed. Solid back four, solid central midfield and an idea that when we get it we know how we'll attack, be it balls into the front two and play off them, concentrate on getting the wingers at their fullbacks, or whatever, but I can't take it if it's a fecking Souness coming in parking busses calling everyone a cnut and going down anyway coz we're already miles behind. Might as well go down swinging, get somebody positive who'll be good at rebuilding in the Championship/Evostick, and have a do at a Great Escape, coz miraculous, everybody together all behind the team which itself has some fecking clue what it is meant to be doing is the only way we even have a shot at getting out of this.

People say he's a coach, not a manager, but the fact that these players haven't been coached for the past 2 years means it'll be an improvement.

Wouldn't mind resigning Tal Ben Haim from Portsmouth. He's not been treated the best there and would certainly be a move upward again for him.

We'll need someone when Cahill goes. Its not the worst shout ever.

Will Ricketts not be back by then?

If we are as hard up as you reckon that Cahill money won't be seen. By the time we sell Cahill we will be gone anyways. Might as well save the money.

It won't cost us a bean to sign Ben Haim. Certainly not transfer fee.

The money issue is self evident, I'm surprised anyone is still in the "you reckon" arena.

I doubt Ricketts will ever be the player he was. I've yet to see the player come back from that level of injury, particularly one who's now in his thirties.

We haven't lost, or even conceded, in the league this season when Marcos Alonso has been in it at left back. However we haven't scored too many either..hmmm..maybe Vladamir Weiss can save us then?

I'm completely cool with keeping Coyle. We will go down and I'll enjoy trips to more exotic stadiums in far flung towns where we actually have a chance of winning matches, as opposed to the last 4 years where at least 6 times a season, I'd sooner have just gifted teams the 3 points and avoided the matches.

Bring on the fizzy pop league - better football, far more equitable, a chance of some excitement, cheaper pies at away games.
