Put it this way Johnny Evans has ended our hopes of an FA cup final place and a top half finish.

I hope that fooker gets whats coming to him, I really really do!

oh FFS! yes - it's bad news - but talk about a total over-reaction! I've read some wank on this board - I've written plenty of it myself - but - this takes the wank-cup!

Bish I haven't got time to do this but if anyone does what would our win % with and without Holden be this season? It won't paint a pretty picture. Guess who was missing for our Christmas slump? Hmmmmm.......

I'm not the only one saying this and I don't think its an overreaction. The Stoke game was 50:50 as it was, we've now lost our most crucial player, the one who seems to make our team tick.

Not only that his replacement is out currently and seems to pick up niggles. Our other midfield player has regressed this season and can't keep possession.

Aye what a recipe for Wembley and the rest of the season!

bollox.

you wrote "Johnny Evans has ended our hopes of an FA cup final place and a top half finish." that was bollox when you wrote it - it is now - and will be tomorrow.

anyone who seriously thinks we now have no chance of an FA cup final place and/or a top half finish is simply talking bollox.

Well I think he has. I think we'll struggle now as we have done when Holden has been missing for the other periods this season.

There is plenty of evidence to suggest we're fooked. Almost none to suggest we're not.

you didn't simply say we would struggle - you said our hopes were ended.

and - your last phrase - what on earth does that mean? what would "evidence" that we're "not fooked" look like? surely the only "evidence" of that would involve hinsight...

and - I think hindsight will show that we will finish in the top half.

also - whether or not we DO secure an FA Cup final place - I most certainly DO NOT think our hopes of doing so are now over.

where is the "evidence" that we are "fooked"?

evidence that all our hopes are not gone of an FA Cup final place will be seen in the rush for tickets for the semi-final.

if all our hopes ARE now gone - then tickets will be a doddle to come by because hardly anyone will want to travel so far to watch the inevitable defeat.

Thats a terrible analogy. There'll be plenty of people who just want a weekend away, to see the whites at wembley, or just to see new wembley.

With or witout Holden there's no direct correlation between ticket sales.

As well as being p'd off about the possible impact on the team - this is a real pisser for Stuey, who hasn't had it easy injury-wise and was establishing a reputation... We can only hope that what looks from the outside like a very positive dressing room cameraderie will give him the support and envouragement needed to get through what looks like a long and miserable lay-off - not least, for him, missing wembley...

I'm obviously gutted that we are losing Holden for the rest of our season, but I'm more gutted for him personally not being able to play at Wembley.

I'm right fooked off now, couldnt have cared less about losing at OT, even in injury time...but this is just typical innit.

This sucks, I'm worried Mavis won't keep fit the the rest of the season which will leave us with Muamba as our only centre midfielder, proper downer on the end of the season, as I stated in the match forum, a 3 match ban does not justify enough punishment in comparison with Holden's injury
