I only ever got a 25m one. They made us race at school and I was daft enough to come third at 25m. Finals were 50m and I was resoundingly last.

Loving the authentic hole in Jesus's's' hand through which you can still see the can. I never did believe the anecdote about the vinegar and the sponge.

Lambert trying to resign at the Canaries...

Makes me realise how lucky we were that we kept big fat Sam as long as we did to be honest.

I think they said on R5 that Norwich have rejected his resignation... but he is talking to Villa.. are they allowed to talk to him??

They've just announced he's got the job.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18307066

Quote:
Aston Villa have confirmed that Norwich City boss Paul Lambert has been appointed as their new manager.

Villa have been without a manager since sacking Alex McLeish the day after the final game of the season.

Lambert, 42, guided City to back-to-back promotions from League One to the top flight and finished 12th in their first year back in the Premier League.

He previously managed Livingston, Wycombe and Colchester before his move to Carrow Road in August 2009.

A statement on Villa's official website confirmed: "The board of Aston Villa are delighted to confirm that Paul Lambert has been appointed Villa manager."

Norwich chief executive David McNally had previously told the BBC that he was ready for a fight to keep Lambert at the club.

"We would not welcome any enquiry for our football manager or any of the club's football players," McNally told BBC Radio Norfolk.

Lambert, who enjoyed spells at Celtic and Borussia Dortmund in his playing days, took over the Canaries in the third tier when they were reeling from a 7-1 defeat by his Colchester, but the Scot masterminded successive promotions to reach the top flight in his first two seasons in charge.

McLeish departed Villa on 14 May after just 11 months in charge.

More to follow.

Really not sure that this is a good move for him, or for anyone outside of that ubiquitous group headed by Souness.

Villa are a selling club with European expectations. Best of luck to him though.

Norwich are a boring club but they don't deserve someone as bad as Steve Bruce. For Lambert to come up and do the job he's done with the wages the players are on is brilliant, but all that work will go down the shit pan with Bruce's shockingly bad eye for a player and the wages he pays them.
