Had Venky's shown up at the Reebok they'd have been welcomed with open arms.

(seemingly) Rich, foreign investors promising the earth.......we'd have loved them

Top 6 for them, within a few seasons.

Meanwhile cancel tours, "try" to buy big names, which always fall through and lose players by the handful.

Good stuff.

Kean will struggle, they's sack him and then try for a big name. They'll be down by the botton 6 all season, poss even go down. Venky's will get even stranger & the spiral will keep going.

I love the cliched "we don't have to sell to buy". That'd be after Phil Jones, right?

I honestly don't see whats changed other than ownership.

Yip, agreed, without a doubt. If anyone turned up with bags of cash in tow we'd all be chuffed.

But there is a major embarrassment factor with these chicken farmers. I just can't stop laughing every time I remember their first press conference, when the Venky MD was giving the football world the benefit of her wisdom, concluded with the affirmation: "This is how we do business!". Really? Yea right..... now feck off.

Doesn't matter how much dosh you have. It's how you spend it that brings success. These people are verging on the delusional.

They're Indian business-persons. So they are stinking rich. Fact.

Do you know nothing ??

Apparently not.

Their bankers supposedly used part/all of the Jones transfer money to pay an overdue mortgage. Shortly after, they allegedly had Pavone in a hotel waiting to sign a deal but the club cancelled his room and he went home.

Blackburn are so much more entertaining off the pitch than on it.

Not shocked at all that the Venky's mob are in for the United lad.

All the Chicks love a Goodwillie.

Lovely stuff at Blackburn

They'd agreed a £2m fee for Goodwillie, he drives down from Scotland, gets to Ewood Park... and there's nobody there. Waits around for a bit then drives back home.

Still confident of signing him.

Just a bit, I think.

Your signature, I would have said Ipswich. They have won a European cup after all, and had players in the film 'Escape to Victory'.

That Scottish striker they've signed will be great for them. I wish we had a Goodwillie in our team.

Wow just wow

Quote:
Several Blackburn Rovers stars have had full details of their pay deals splashed all over the papers after a secret sale document was leaked.

The Daily Mirror obtained a copy of a sale brochure produced by Indian negotiator Krish Naidoo that was put together to try and help the club offload El Hadji Diouf, Keith Andrews, Vince Grella and Nikola Kalinic.

The quartet of big earners are all up for grabs as Blackburn's Indian owners try to slash their wage bill by £500,000 a month, and the details of the players' deals make for fascinating reading.

Volatile midfielder Diouf - once dubbed "the most hated man in football" - earns £30,000 a week, with an extra £5,000 every time he takes part in a match. The player has already been told he is surplus to requirements at Ewood Park, with West Ham keen to take him but Rovers insist that the Hammers must cover his entire wage bill if he is to leave on loan.

The club are demanding a £500,000 loan fee should anyone want Australian international Grella, who is on £30,000 a week plus £6,000 for every match he plays.

Andrews, meanwhile, is on £21,000 plus £2,000 for every appearance - but his incredible contract guarantees him a pay rise after every five matches, as well as handing him an annual extra payment of £26,667. Should Rovers sell the Irish international, his former club MK Dons will be entitled to a 10 per cent cut of any fee over £1m.

Croatian striker Kalinic, meanwhile, is struggling to make ends meet on a flat rate of £30,000 a week. No wonder he is in the process of trying to complete a £6m move to Ukrainian side Dnipro.

Steve Kean, the Blackburn Rovers manager, has been banned from driving for 18 months after his claim that his drinks had been spiked after a Manchester United match were thrown out in court.

Kean had been caught driving at 90mph while almost twice the legal drink-drive limit on the M6 southbound in Cheshire after the 1-1 draw at Ewood Park that confirmed Sir Alex Ferguson's side as the Premier League champions last May while also helping to ensure Blackburn's top-flight status.

More importantly, why was he heading south?
