A fine, v funny film but I do wish the farting scene wasn't in .... too easy, too cheap. Then the end ... he simply runs out of patience I think.

Overall, however, excellent.

As was Young Frankenstein.

Of Brooks' films however, I do lean toward the Producers.

Similar weakeness' exist with the Holy Grail film, which overall I prefer to Brian. I know I'm 'wrong' but I just do. Shame about the shite ending though.

Speaking of flatulence Bobo, nothing induces laughter like someone else doing it. Mentioned this before, but the scenes for the shooting of Peter Sellars "gangsters in an elavator" film (can't recall the title off-hand) where someone let one rip, were some of the funniest ever for me.

I kind of agree - but it is a shame that Cleese has become such an irritating git - I'm finding it affects my enjoyment of the films...

I've read a lot about him in recent years and he's always been so. Very much a preening meglomaniac & full of himself. Very destructive and difficult with any team he works with.

I guess it's to do with his real name being John Cheese.

Well, his father's was originally Cheese but wisely changed it before going into the army in WW1. I am unaware of his recent 'annoying' persona but Fawlty Towers can still make me laugh (even if he wasn't acting so to speak).

Can't recall the title of the "thing" that WtW pointed us too about the Pythons just before Christmas, but Cleese certainly came across as tough to work with.

I have to say though when I'm watching anything, I don't tend to be sat there thinking "what's this person like in real life?" (unless the thing I'm watching is about what this person is like in real life). If I felt strongly (negatively) about what someone was like in real life, I probably wouldn't watch the thing in the first place.
